I'm sooo excited for SP now. It's a good piece of music and I have really good expectations for Shoma's interpretation. I especially love how it looks so dark and sinister, though of course that could be just the lightning + the costume for now. The costume really, really works great in the shows.

Here is another video, it features slightly different bits/camerawork. But hopefully we'll have the full video tomorrow or the day after (I think Asahi TV is gonna be streaming it live on Sunday?).

And man! I'm really thinking about going to Grenoble. :) Rostelecom is gonna be great (and in my city), so many of my faves are gonna be here, but god, I really want to see Shoma, so. :D

You guys are so lucky! I'm seriously considering going to SC this year. Especially since my favorite pair team (Vanessa and Morgan) will also be there. :yahoo:

The SP seems like it was great, looking at what's on Twitter!
I'm thrilled to see what's in it for the choreography--I just love coach Fluffy's interpretations.. no one can choreograph better than her for Shoma! :yes2: Then there's the costume, I'm really looking forward to something as strong and beautiful as the Loco costume, which was a masterpiece, and it truly matched the style and elegance of the program. Lastly, there's the technical side--would Shoma be able to land his jumps consistently throughout the season? The first half of last season really was a struggle jump-wise for the SP, but the second half he looked like he knew he could do it. I hope he can be confident with his jumps from earlier on in the season, you can do it Shoma!:hap10: He hasn't landed his quad flip in combination in competition yet, so I'm looking forward to seeing it grow as his 4T3T did last season!! Also looking forward to his quad loop, it's so beautiful already:love: and of course, his 3A is just :yahoo:!(internally screaming)
Any predictions on what kind of transitions he'll add this season?:yay:

If I was part of the couple people above you, I don't quite see how my comment merited that? I was just making a lighthearted joke and agreeing Shoma had a chance at winning SC. :confused2:

My original post is crystal clear. Talking about other skaters who have nothing to do with today's announcement is most likely going to trigger conversations that have nothing to do with Shoma. Here, it right away triggered a post from the next user talking about judges apparently colluding not to give the skater you had mentioned the title... I simply wrote to remind everyone those discussions are inappropriate in a skater's fan fest accordingly to GS's guidelines. There is no point rehashing competitions from the past that didn't even include Shoma in his fan fest. It's not welcomed.

Now for Shoma fans and music fans... I have a treat. Well... a musical treat. With Shoma's brilliant tango this year and Vivaldi's SP to come... it reminded me of this exciting arrangement of Piazzolla and Vivaldi's seasons together as heard here... if you have an hour, have a glass of wine and enjoy... It's wonderful and one can imagine that Shoma will do brilliantly with the Vivaldi, because he does have the right intensity as we saw in his tango.

I have to burst into joy with you guys : Shoma in Fraaaaaaaaance :yahoo: :hap57: With Javi as the cool bonus ! Can't wait to see that duel ! Hope to find some of you guys in Grenoble.

Thank you all for the FaOI updates. This is a heart-attack layout brace yourselves. :drama:

So happy for you Pika! And there is a wonderful lineup at Grenoble -- besides Javi and Shoma, Max & Vincent from the U.S. will be there, Misha Ge, and the pairs and ladies look really good too. I hope they will allow you to attend the practices too.

So much excitement today with a clip of the SP, our Golden Boy (wow -- no more little boy, he looks so adult and so handsome!), music talk, and costume talk. I'm sure at this point they just have the framework for the SP done, but it's still exciting! If this year is like last year, the costumes for the ice show SP and FS were for shows only, and he had completely different ones for competition.

Regarding Shoma vs. Patrick at Skate Canada, the only thing I think is for certain is that they will both come out and give 120%. I'm sure it will be very exciting!

Shoma skated his new SP today, too. With triple jumps. And he joined the quad battle at the end of the show and fell on the Loop. :p

Oh okay, I apologise then for making a joke and being responsible for what someone else replied to it. I'll be sure to be more careful next time.

Anyway, bringing this on topic, here's some flying Shoma and more Shoma here and here, from Makuhari. The outfit has kind of grown on me since CdP.

Also, Shoma seems to be planning his 4F3T combo for the second half bonus, according to tweets about his layout skated today, which triggered my math bug so I calculated how much that was worth in BV. 53.21 for a 4Lo // 4F3T 3A layout. For perspective, Nathan's SP with 4Lz3T 4F // 3A is worth 53.15 BV.

If he nails that, he is right in the mix. His GOE's might be not as high, but I think the PCS will be right at the top in the Olympic Season. I think judges will love Four Seasons. I don't wanna be too optimistic before the season has begun, but even the short glimpses of the SP makes me swoon, and really excited for what's to come. That spin! I think a great Four Seasons together with a more refined Turandot can really help him soar and get that Gold. At least he should be on the podium. I don't give a damn about those who will undoubtly say figure skating is over if Shoma wins. I will celebrate. I really think he can do it. I wonder if Lambiel will help while he's in Japan.

I hope that Shoma works with Lambiel again since it apparently went well when they worked together on Loco. I just hope that he doesn't give any fashion advice on the costume. :p I still don't understand the zebra on Lambiel's winter costume. :scratch2:

Thx for posting this music. :jaw: I listened to the whole thing, and it is spectacular. Winter comes in at about 36:00. Can't believe the fast tempo. I think my arm would fall off if I tried to move the bow that fast. I wonder if Shoma can move that fast?!...Seriously, this made me want to run out and sign up for Adult Suzuki Violin classes!

Looks like one of these guns that shoot confetti and sparkling bands and ribbons. I've seen these things in J-Pop Concerts before.

Oh yeah, I forgot those existed. Shoma de Uno, Confetti Warrior.

Shoma was 'partnered' with Marin during Choo Choo train. I'm trying to watch some of the live broadcast between chores... ;)

Shoma just finished. He stumbled a bit and only did triples, but I really like the cut of four seasons they used. This is going to be a great SP, I feel it, but right now it is pretty basic and it's obviously very, very new. Choreographically he will work on this, but as it is early stages I'm very confident. It is 9 months until the Olympics, and like a baby, this program has the potential to grow! *sohappy*
