You're right...there was no cantilever! *gasp* Did...did he abandon the cantilever? :roll9: Nooo...

It'll be in the FS! I think thematically it may not be the right move to use in this program, hence the decision not to include it?

I don't know if Turandot 2.0 will be exactly like Turandot 1.0.

Didn't he say in some interview that he didn't know the choreography yet? So I'm assuming that there will be changes. I liked the ending though in Turandot 1.0.

Well, if it's about stability he probably will put the cantilever as his second to last element going into the spin. I remember saying last year that LOCO and Lavender was structured quite similarly especially at the end = Cantilever -> Spin, ending pose. If it makes him confident so be it. It's a great moment if everything works out that's for sure.

Pretty sure it was at Prince Ice World that he said he didn't know all the choreography yet for the FS. In his 2015-16 SP (which was a little more up tempo, kinda like Winter), he didn't include the cantilever. My guess is he'll leave it out of Winter but put it in Nessun Dorma. After all, he needs to get the crowd excited :hap93: so he can finish to thunderous applause while he does his final phenomenal series of spins! I wonder if he'll learn a little more Italian so he can sing along with Paul Potts?! :hslap:

he is cute but i don't like most of his picks

Oops - I guess you and Nobu have to agree to disagree. One can certainly never count Patrick out at SC. It will be interesting with Patrick, Shomita, Jason, Mura, Kovtun, and Brendan Kerry has been steadily improving. Last year Mura had a stellar SP but then really lost his way in the FS - but you can always count on him to give a strong effort. It's an interesting field. Hendrickx from Belgium had a strong showing at Europeans. I've never seen Jun Hwan Cha from Korea live, so that'll be interesting too.

you are correct... Nobu and I are no longer BFFs ;) he only mentioned V/M in his oly picks... leaving all other of my favourites (aside from Shoma) off the podium LOL I was like ... erm... okay... thanks ;) but he makes up for it with his cute smile.

back to Shoma... i'd love to see him skate live. He comes across so powerfully on tv/online... so i wonder if that feeling carries through at the rink, in the cheap seats.
I think the answer is yes but i'd like to experience it live... so i hope both Shoma and Patrick will warm up SC at ACI LOL yet i doubt it since ACI is also Japan Open time and I think Shoma may do it again.

Shoma is amazing live and skates "big" for his small stature. :) I do like Winter for him but was hoping it was the Bond version that Yagudin did back in 2002. That would be such a great vehicle for Shoma and I would love to see his footwork.

Of course I had to watch Yags again! OMG, that footwork! Shoma might be able to give him a run for his money - but I guess we'll just have to enjoy the "other" Winter.

Have just repeatedly watched this first sketchy iteration of Winter, and love it. I truly feel that in its developed version, it could well be a brilliant, joyfully grave, absolute classical masterpiece. Cannot hardly wait to see him at SC, and for everything the next season will bring!

Maybe besides Chapstick, Shoma could use a little Beano! :scard7:

Hoping to see some news about when he plans to leave for the U.S. Maybe there will be something in the news soon. Or maybe he's on the way right now?

Thanks a lot for posting! :) Shoma looks taller and very mature in that one-piece (isn't it?) costume except designs of upper body. We can picture already it's going to be an amaging program as the season deepens, don't we!:love:

Thanks also for clicking 'Thums-up' my post in The Edge. ;):)

No worries, sweet deedee!

@interview
Keiji is lucky that Shoma didn't release one of these bombs sitting on his lap....anyway, it just proves that Shoma doesn't give a damn about his image. And they are fun together. Like he said, spending the night in Keiji's room playing video games instead of celebrating, haha.

Arriba, is that your..parrot? Parakeet? What do you call it? English is fascinating, one of the first english words I learned was 'budgie'. How many names can there be? It looks so cute..can he/she say "Shoma"?

Yes, Shoma is an imp! Although maybe we need a different word to describe him now that he's older. If he would just take 2 Beano before he eats, he would probably have fewer problems. I remember reading how when he and Keiji had to room together, he drove Keiji nuts. I think I may understand a little better now exactly why! :hslap:

Yes, that is my parrot, Buddy. He is a blue and gold macaw. You can't see it in the photo, but his tail is 19 inches long. He is HUGE and is actually quite a handful! I haven't taught him to say "Shoma" yet, but every time he hears my car keys jingle he yells "bye, bye!". And sometimes when he's in the mood he waves bye bye. He says other stuff too. That's the fun part, the bad part is when he thinks he's calling to his fellow parrots in the jungle...You can't tell what sex they are unless you have them surgically sexed, and although I always say "he", I think "he is a she!" :laugh2: He is amazingly beautiful...I was going to use another photo of him but it was too small. It was so funny. When I got back from Helsinki, he was sitting on my suitcase (which is really a no-no!). Of course he was chewing on the handle -- they chew on anything and everything!!!!

:otopic: :hijacked:  Sorry!

So happy you'll see him at SC. I can only imagine the difference in Winter by that time. Have you started buying tickets, airline, hotel, etc.? I booked the Residence Inn which is in walking distance of the arena. I didn't want a repeat of last year where I couldn't get a cab afterwards!

Now, that's a curious turn in the Shoma thread. :rofl2: Apparently, cute 'malyshatina' knows how to fart, oh my. World will never be the same again.
Let's hope his new programs (and the whole olympic season) will be as explosive as his bombings in Keiji's presence.
:hb:
