Shoma might debut his FS on DOI, this coming July (7-9). So not long to go!

Yes please. This off-season is killing me. I thought we'd have to wait until The Ice!

Regarding styles, because Shoma is so young, I look forward to how he develops in the future. The guy may be 19 going on 20, but his life experiences and his physical and (he's already admitted) emotional maturity are sort of 2-3 years behind, so he still has a lot to experience which can influence his skating. Makes me curious how his skating will be influenced when he experiences some major life change (falls in love, encounters some great difficulty/sorrow or joy not related to skating, etc). Whatever may happen, I'm sure his artistry and maturity in skating will continue to develop, and I'm excited to find out in which direction. Will he interact more with the audience and get energy from them? Or will he look inward and express his passion in his skating? Or maybe both at varying times, wherever appropriate? I hope it's both, but whatever it may be, it will be a beautiful thing to watch. Probably not that much this Olympic season, though, but one can hope.

Let's hope so! :) In the interview Xeyra posted, he says they haven't decided the layout yet. Well, he has about two weeks to make up his mind

Also, my fangirling has started to affect my movie preferences. I went to see Your Name, cause I had to hear what kind of music Shoma likes. My first anime and I liked it :o:

Hi everyone and a Belated Welcome to iiori!:)

Catching up with this thread and for a minute I thought I was in Dai-Chan's FF.

I am hard core Dai fan so I enjoy reading everyone's posts about two of my favorites skaters, Dai from the past and presently Shomita!

It is off season so going off topic is typical, but if you are not a Dai fan it may be annoying for some members.

Back on Topic: I really hope that Shomita debuts his LP at DOI. I want to see the changes that have been made to the program.

Possibility 1) Training at Chukyo
Possibility 2) Holidaying in Okinawa/Bali/The Carribean
Possibility 3) Chicago

Possibility 4) Hawaii. Whoever is near him right now, please stealthily put a GPS on his skate case!
:scard7: :scard8: :roll5:

Wherever he is, I hope he's resting properly and having some good sleep.

Darn, for those of us who were hoping to see the Winter Prince at the US Classic Intl. in Salt Lake City, that will not be his Challenger event. He is doing the Lombardia Trophy (Sept 14-17) in Italy again. Boo hoo! He is also scheduled for Japan Open.

Just read the news. I'm not surprised. I kind of always hope that some of my favourites go to Nebelhorn, but Shoma has never been and since he was well received at Bergamo, it makes sense. Japan Open, too. Probably aiming to win the Men's competition there.

Where did you see the news??? I thought the participants for the Challenger Events are to be decided much later!!! (I am hoping against hope that Jason will return there too, but I am afraid he is much more likely to go to US Classic on the same weekend... :sad21: )

Team Japan has released the decisions already, not the other feds, as far as we know. Wakaba is also at Lombardia.

I just happened to see in Marin's Fan Fest (and Mai Mihara's) that their Challenger events had been posted, then saw Shoma's news on the shoma-uno tumblr account. Tried to search official sites but didn't see anything further. Seems like the Japanese Fed is making their announcement really early...Keeping fingers crossed for you that you get to see Jason (and Shoma too!) Attending anything at a smaller venue is SO much fun!

ETA -- Don't know if it's been posted already, but the Japan Open team is Shomita, Nobu, Mai, and Marin.

Nothing to see, just me swooning over the fact that I finally decided to watch the FoI Makuhari broadcast with Shoma's new SP. I'd originally planned to wait until the new season to see the skaters' new programs, like I always do, but... well, the skaters are totally cheating this year by repeating like 50 % of the programs, so I feel like I'm allowed to cheat, too.
And it was so worth it. *le sigh* Mesmerizing program, wow. Of course, I'm severely biased, love love love that music. So flowy, yummy. Shower him with gold medals, plz, thank you very much.

I love that program so much already. *_* There is some slight backwards movement which fits the violins so well somewhere in there. A person more articulate could explain better, but these three second....:luv17: the choreo.
