Yup, I wonder that myself. Any serious contender who skates with him just develops superior edge quality. Despite their failings I/K were absolutely wonderful to watch because of it and I see where W/P have also improved in that area. Just underscores my opinion that Russian Ice dance is very poorly managed. They have the requisite skills but hey don't know how to deploy them, either that or persons involved simply will not work together, giving us our current results. Could we imagine the type of pair they would have if Oleg Volkov, Peter T. and N. Morozov knew how to work together?
I fail to see what Annabelle Morozov has to do with the management of Russian Ice Dance. She competed in singles for the U.S. from age 7-14.
Russia had no control over morozov at all. Like most famous Russian ice dancers he raised his kids in United States and lived as an American after fleeing Russia. The mass fleeing of Russian skaters to US was very extreme in dance and why Russia should allow all its skaters to train in North America as Russia is bankrupt orfnknowledge and capability in dance coaching.

We'll never know. It would be a shock to see them actually making strides in Russian ID, but if they did, heads would roll for sure.
Intuition tells me Step/Buk are going to the ballet this season. So obviously in Russia, decent posture is no longer a pre-requisite for ice dance.
Next thing, are SinKats still with Zhulin or has he really farmed them out to Durnev and T.? Because hey today was his birthday and they didn't send a message on social media saying he was the greatest coach of all time. Or is it that Zhulin is cracking the whip!! LOL.

It seems that all the Russian ID pairs will be going the classical or balletic route this season. I'm getting excited to see their programs. On a side note, I was feeling nostalgic about I/K today and came across this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPg-0oreJJ8. No one since or now has the same skating quality and they became this way under the coaching of Morozov. Was it due to his coaching, because I found D/S pretty smooth for newbies, or is this a quality that is unique to a pair. It's almost as if they were able to finish each others sentences on ice if that makes sense. Cest la vie.
I still believe that no Russian Ice Dance team since the last Olympic Games has come close to I/K. Morozov may have played a huge role to their success by giving them stunning, well-packaged programs, but they were truly spectacular together. They had great quality, great chemistry, and most of all, they had the IT-FACTOR.
