He answers more readily and with more thought now, compared to before. I raised my eyebrows on the 4T feeling more at the level of a 3A, but that gives me greater reassurance that he's very comfortable with that jump, and it makes sense since he did learn to land those two jumps nearly at the same time.

I recently saw his "Ladies in Lavender" performance in the Shenzhen ice show last year. It was so much less developed than his performances in Worlds and WTT, so I'm confident his SP and FS this year will only get much better.

Arriba's birthday is behind us, dare I say it? :)

Anyway, I'm so hyped for ShoSho hitting Chicago & American Ice soon. I wish for three weeks of hard, hard training. That kind of training that makes you weep initially, but all the better after it. Sounds cruel from behind a computer screen, but I want Sho to stretch the limits this season.

My guess is that he will arrive in Chicago before the 14th. In fact maybe he is on his way now? He has Friends on Ice starting on the 26th, so he needs to start jump training soon. Go Shomita. Can't wait to see him. I really want to get my Japan flag signed. I have never in my life asked anyone for an autograph so am actually kind of embarrassed! :shocked:

Whoops, sorry about that! I do vaguely remember the "eating one of the KitKats Shoma gave" conversation for your birthday. Not sure why I thought it was in August. Enjoy your vacation!

Already 6th day of training camp in Chicago. Demi-san, Kotaro and Itsuki are with him.
I'm relieved to know he is with his trainer this time. So, he shares the trainer with Satoko now?
Also I didn't expect Kotaro to go to Chicago together at all. They are getting closer recently.

Woah, he's been there for six days already? *_* He looks good, no question. I'm so happy that the Glacier Social Media crew is absolutely smitten with ShoSho, look at that fanboy/girling...hehe...

Sorry for being a bad fan, but who are these people you mentioned, Demi-san and Kotaro? And why is he sharing a trainer with Satoko? Isn't Team Yamada a rival team? :o:

I don't think you're a bad fan. Kotaro is a not international level skater yet. I should have explained more.

Kotaro Takeuchi is a figure skater in Chukyo University. He was 14th at Japanese Junior Figure Skating Championships last season. They have well known each other since they are little because they are both same years old and from Aichi. After they entered Chukyo University, Kotaro tweeted about Shoma a few times and his icon is the cute picture with Shoma.

Shinchi Demizu (Demi-san) was a originally Takahiko's trainer. When Takahiko was struggled with his injury, he was introduced Demi-san and could continue skating by his support. So lots of Takahiko's fans appreciate him so much. I don't know why Satoko and Shoma share the same trainer, but I don't think they care for it.

Thank you for your great contributions 0smile0, especially for your report from The Ice! :hap10: That last show sounds like it was extremely special from start to finish! The friendships and love between the veteran skaters of Team Japan are so touching and Shoma is the nestling everybody dotes on in that group. ❤ Such a shame Kanako was missing in Nagoya. I think I'd have helplessly teared up had I been there in person. :sad21:

MaiKatze, "pain and torture"?? Haha. I guess "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" applies here. He also said the same last year, in how his whole body ached after the training in Chicago, and we know how great his improvement was this past season! The hard work should pay off!

I'm so confused by all this news. I thought Glacier posted that he was only en route to Chicago last Tuesday or Wednesday, now apparently he's been there 6 days! I thought the post was actually from last year, until I saw the picture with his "new"/current face. The picture of Shoma asleep and exhausted while his brother is looking at the camera (about to take a bite of whatever that is) is so adorable. You can clearly see the resemblance.

August 14 is tomorrow!
 
Well now I'm just confused. Glacier tweeted that Shoma would perform on Saturday evening. :confused: This really makes me appreciate our Chicago detective Arriba. She would know!
