Wow, Arriba, so brave and such luck to get the both Unos in a photo, posing just for you and talking to Shoma & Itsuki. So Itsuki is just 15 or 16 and looks like the "older" brother. How sweet. Didn't Shoma state in an interview that what he loves most in this World is his brother? :luv17: I'm so glad he has his family around, keeping him happy.

Add me to the Glacier fans. I wonder what could be if Shoma changed coaches and went to America long-term. I know with Uni and Toyota it's kind of hard and well, I don't ever want to see Fluffy and Shoma apart, but I can't help wonder what could've been. He seems so happy and relaxed and is so loved. But that's no wonder since he is so nice to people as well. How does it go? Everything comes back to you!

The day of the Sho & Bro photo, I finally just said "Ok, you HAVE to take his picture." I just hate to be such a pest! It was VERY hard to get my nerve up to do it, especially since I had already asked him to sign my flag. It was just a coincidence that Itsuki was there. I heard footsteps behind me, and there he was!...I remember in a questionnaire (?) he was asked to name things that he treasured, and one of the things he named was his brother...Don't know if I can picture him here full-time. He definitely gets back what he gives out. And I love that he's just sort of quiet. I would love to know how many people had their photo taken with him while he was here!

Regarding that 2013 Nationals video -- one of my favorites. The interview is great. I think in one minute twenty seconds he has 5 head tilts and probably says ano and sugoi at least 5 ( or is it 10?) times each! Ha!...I am still very surprised that given his limited English, he seems very at ease here.

LOVE your new avatar. Half of the new face--but glad that we get to see all of the nose! Awesome!

At least you have no regrets. And I guess, Shoma knows/feels that your a kind soul and loyal supporter who only wishes for his best! I think he can feel the love - so he is at ease. Full time - yeah, it's always different to spend your life in a foreign country. Staying in Japan might be best. Still, what I read from Shoma at Glacier, I actually believe he could've been okay with a move. Of course, his mother would have had to come along and as his younger brother is also a factor - it was probably impossible.

Love your new avatar, too!

Shoma is the Prince that was promised and his is the song of Ice and Loco!

Yesterday the pizza delivery man had a pizza and no one knew who it was for. Turned out it was for Shoma and company. At least they have good taste. It was from www.loumalnatis.com which is one of the best! There was probably a side order of beef and rice for you-know-who...

Oh, lord, why do you always have to post links to restaurants that Shoma likes? :jaw:I'm getting hungry again.....at least he's not on a diet. The +point of being a male figure skater, I guess.

Winter - The Ice - Nagoya

 I hope he will get all the points for his awesome spins at the end. He's a wonderful spinner!

Shoma's spins are amazing when he doesn't travel!! He has the speed and beautiful form. I think Shoma hasn't really gotten immersed with Winter yet, the musicality isn't there yet. But the season hasn't even started! I'm excited.

The sound of blades gliding on ice in this video is relaxing.

Some short training clips. Livebarn links take forever for me to load.

I appreciate the videos so much but i hope they don't move the cam too much. I hope that Shoma can do the bielman spin because that'll be so cool!!!!!!!

I think it's an automated camera?

Thank you for all the links, updates, and reports! I like watching him have fun trying new things. So cool that he's trying new spins on top of everything else! And is it just me, or is he faster when he spins now? Seems to be the case from the last The Ice broadcast of Winter.

Glacier ice has a youtube channel and they post shoma's short training https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cSsU0W1zpMc :D

he has yellow stuff on his skates, It looks like he ran out of black tape XD

go chk out their channel. there's more :hap10:

Already on Friday he was starting to have boot problems. He left the rink and when he came back, he had a lot of yellow tape. Those quads are boot destroyers! :drama:

The spins seem faster to me, and the speed never diminishes at all. When they are well centered ( as we know he is capable of doing) they are a thing of beauty!

ETA - No to the Biellman. Too hard on the back!

oh no :sad4: i think maybe because his shoes are those ready made (perhaps the quality of the materials used is not as good as to those customized ones). I hope he could get a new one.

I'm glad it's not just me! I love his speed in his spins. I wouldn't mind the inclusion of a haircutter spin in his programs, but I agree that I'd prefer not to have him do the Biellman (sorry, Little Lady). Even among the women it literally looks like it's back-breaking, and that's not even mentioning Julia Lipnitskaya's seemingly anatomically impossible version of that spin.

awww :con3: haha i understand it don't worry :D I dunno but it looks really awesome in my mind to see shoma do that Biellman. I'm really excited to see new moves he could do aside from the cantilever.

With his spins; it's absolutely amazing. Can't wait to see a new version of turandot program :hap36:

NO BIELLMAN for Shoma ;) he has wonderful spins already ;) and as far as I am concerned, the cantilever could go too ;) he doesn't need more tricks... just his own beautiful skating

Not exactly the way I would want to start my Saturday morning, but Kotaro and Shoma were working really hard with Vladimir Fedorov when I walked in. https://pic.twitter.com/C86VU1WUuP I wondered where VF had been, since Shoma usually works with him. Lots of drills and one foot stuff.

A couple funny things – I heard that some of the kids were trying to communicate with Shoma and Kotaro by using the Google translator on their phones. I guess it really had everyone laughing. If it’s anything like some of the translation things I’ve seen, :hpull: !...Yesterday the pizza delivery man had a pizza and no one knew who it was for. Turned out it was for Shoma and company. At least they have good taste. It was from www.loumalnatis.com which is one of the best! There was probably a side order of beef and rice for you-know-who...Today was off-ice training. I don’t know the extent of Sho and Kotaro’s participation, but as I left, I saw them jogging outside with a bunch of people. Hopefully eventually we will see some videos of handstands and other “torture”! I understand that sometimes they run as much as 7 miles. Sheesh! I hope they both had a great experience. They really worked hard and showed improvement!

No, Winter! Please don’t go! :sad4: :console: https://pic.twitter.com/at3fuFzoaW Less than four weeks to Lombardia!

hey, i have not been here in awhile, but i just wanted to give you a heads up Arriba. Maybe you know. I was looking at some practice videos, and saw a japanese video mentioning fedorov as coaching. I hardly check out the vids with the japanese writing because the ones i looked at in the past seemed quite trashy. (maybe not all of them) but I didn’t know this coach so I clicked on it, and I suddenly realized somewhere along the way that the person they are translating in writing is you arriba. so I started checking your posts here and I think they’re directly translating what you posted.

just wondered if you even knew or wanted this! (if not, perhaps our wonderful japanese members could check it out)

Oh dear...I appreciate you sharing that.:palmf: Thank goodness I didn't mention the mighty thighs and the now-famous purple pants. :scard7: That cracks me up to see "Lou Malnati" on the screen along with the Japanese words. (Ah the power of suggestion -- yesterday I had to break down and buy a Lou's pizza!)...BTW Fedorov is a former ice dancer, can't remember if I mentioned that.

I think I'd still like him to keep the cantilever, but that Biellman is a back killer. Seems like he'll be doing the cantilever in the FS only.

i knew suggesting it would create some opposition... but yeah.. it's a showy move that is easy and well... i'd be okay without it ;) as I like Shoma in all his simplicity and splendour

OMG Arriba you are becoming Shomita's spokeswoman while he is in US, how cool is that!
