Love the video! I wasn't so sure about the costume, but seeing it in action, it looks good on him. The velvet keeps the costume from moving, but the light weight sleeves allows emphasis of his hand movements. It's quite elaborate and royal-looking. Enjoyed the hip hop moves- once he loosens up a little, it'll look even better. Hope we see the moves in an exhibition skate sometime!

How sweet the other skaters were! Supporting him and allowing him to be the star in that segment of the show. I'm warming up to Turandot again. He really looks like the prince now, luring the princess in and finally declaring his victory. I didn't quite understand the "pulling in" hand movements before (I remember seeing those in his program from 2 seasons ago and wondering what that was about), I only just now understand what it means.

This costume might set a trend in nail art! ;-)
 
Today again TV has a program showing FOI. The previous ver. was kinda short, we need to check Winter too. Also there're Women's Michael Jackson medley, Finale etc. Shoma danced well at Finale too. So cool. I'm sure that someone uploads it to Daily.

Overall, so far, FOI's most well coordinated, great one this year. The audience's good too, they did wow & scream a lot to all skaters. Daisuke fans like Shomita as Dai's bro, good surrounding. ah. Shaelynn's Chicago's great..She attends only FOI always, maybe because all setting, skaters, fans are fun. noisy party atmosphere.
well COI's coming in Oct, I can't say final comment though.
 
I stayed up until 2 am to watch FOI. :popcorn: Lots and lots of Shoma stuff, but then all of a sudden I got kicked off! :sad4: :console: :shame: I never saw the Winter costume, so it must have been at that point. GRRR! Thx for posting. Lots of footage we had never seen before. Can't wait to see Winter a little bit better. It looks beautiful.

And the burning question Are these the for-real costumes? And is it just me or does he get more and more handsome each time we see him???? :cool14: :cheer2:

ETA - Loved the bits and pieces of the Michael Jackson medley and the Finale.

My golly gosh! How can he look so cute just lying on his bed playing games?!! :luv17: Most people would have bed hair and look messy and unappealing. But then, he's not most people. There's just no way to take a bad shot of him at all! I agree, he's looking more and more handsome each time he comes out. I'm also impressed by the blase way he handles the cameras in his face all the time. I wouldn't want to be filmed while I'm eating, that's for sure. :noshake:

Thank you for all the links, I missed everything so I'm so happy to see all this content! They weren't kidding when they said Winter looked like Loco! :thumbsup: Still excited to see the costume in motion and in HD! And that Turandot collab... They all skated well, but Shoma was most definitely the highlight of that number. He skated so beautifully and passionately (seriously, "expression to the very tips of his fingers" is a very appropriate description for him), and he looked really good. :hap10: The program is much better now. It sort of gets your heart pounding towards the end (probably a deadly combination with Shoma skating in that costume plus the dramatic crescendo at the end). :laugh: I also loved hearing the excited shouts and cheers when he came out again near the end of that number, and all the way to the end of the performance. Beautiful, gush-worthy performance and moving music.
 
Will there be a stream for Lombardia? I can't wait....are you excited? I am. Ah, I have a good feeling that Shoma will peak at the right time again this season, so I'm not worried too much about the earlier competitions. ;)

I'll be there cheering for Shoma -- already ordered the tickets for both SP and FP... Really excited to be there and see Shoma one more time (I've already seen him twice -- at Moscow Rostelecom Cup 2016 and Helsinki WC 2017). Hope he'll deliver. :hap10:

I checked the archives from last year and there was a Men's FS subfolder for Lombardia with all the entrants info. and a link to a live feed.
Not sure if it was geoblocked or not.

I can't wait for Lombardia! There definitely was a live feed last year, and it worked great here in the U.S. I know that it did not work in Italy. Hopefully we will have something again this year! So excited to see the Winter Prince. As we expected, total silence. Hope he got a good rest and is now working hard.

SO jealous Hronop. The small venue will make it really fun. You will have some other GS'ers for company. I know for sure MGStyle and YesWay are both going. Please give an extra loud cheer for all of us from the Fan Fest! :hap57: :hap10: :cheer2: :yahoo:

Last yr I saw it at Euro Sports etc free. ahh..the national anthen was so old ver. I remember.. lol

Looks like for his first competition (Lombardia), Sho will be following his plan he used last year of arriving early to have a few days to overcome his jet lag. The news is out that he will be in Milan for three days (prior to the competition) skating at a rink called Agora. The rink is not open to the public. A rough translation says the Japanese national champion and world silver medalist will spend three consecutive days at the rink prior to Lombardia and that it is an honor to have such a prestigious athlete. It is a great opportunity for the National athletes to be able to see him training.
