You're right but Rika has to skate clean two programs...
I would agree with Alina and Zhenya, but I have some doubts about Masha. Masha never skated clean. She doesn't seem to cope well with pressure. She skates well enough, but not great.
I think Anna or Elena would do better, or a dark horse Polina Tsurskaya. Polina may be great, or she may be like at last year's junior worlds. And we will not know what her chances are until we see her at her first GP event.

But if seriously, I will feel very sorry for Dasha if she will lose. She deserves better, and will be really sad to lose her just because she faced with the strongest foreign skater. It could hurt her psychologically, like, "every girl from your group took gold and you didn't". It's not about medals, it's about her feelings.
And it is not only about getting to JGPF, it is also about the next season. The Russian federation showed us that one needs to have great results to be allowed to move to seniors. Feditchkina and Konstantinova weree not 'good enough' in their eyes, so they let move up only Tsurskaya and Zagitova. Next season, Gubanova, Nugumanova, Samodurova, Panenkova, Guliakova and Tarusina will be old enough to move to seniors. But who will be allowed to move, and who will be kept in juniors for another one or two seasons, being constantly compared with new groups of wonder babies?
Agree. I guess RusFed just believed in Lip and Sotnikova, that's why they stopped Konstantinova and Fedichkina. Leonova is just iron lady. What a fighter.
But unlike this season I guess the new generation won't come in the next one. I put my eye on several young ladies: Valieva, Sinitsyna, Kanysheva, Moroz. But they're all not stable (because they're not from Eteri's group
) and they're so young. Also, after Olympic season some of the skaters will end their career. Considering all of this in the next season Russia should not have problems with overdeep field of their skaters in both categories (junior and seniors).

I don't think the federation stopped Feditchkina and Konstantinova from moving up because they believed in Lipnitskaya and Sotnikova. The bottom line is, Feditchkina and Konstantinova did not earn it yet. If the federation stopped Sakhanovich to move up when Sakhanovich had two silver medals from junior worlds and two silver medals from JGPF, why should they let Konstantinova and Feditchkina move up without any medals from JGPF and junior worlds? Even Sotskova had to earn her moving up. How exactly did Konstantinova earn it? Messed up her JG event last season, messed up junior worlds, but did well at Russian nationals so lets pretend she earned it? Nope, it doesn't work like that. And Feditchkina skated even worse the last season.

As for me Alisa wasn't progressing much last 2 seasons, unfortunately. May be she should also move to Eteri?
Why it has to be earned to compete with seniors? Is that like a title or what? Many girls in the previous list like Ivankova or who else are already skating in seniors. Which reason to stop skater to go to seniors and make troubles for another new skaters who wanted to compete at JGP? Or it's just their own decisions, or it's really stupid system.

In Rhythmic gymnastics girls can participate in both senior and junior events if they fit the criteria.
I saw a few 19 yo ladies among the juniors skating in todays JGP event in Riga. As for me, I'd like to see Med competing with some talented junior skaters )
Shifting Trusova to Minsk may be more about getting her to be the first skater to seal her JGPF spot rather than about any of the others involved. Sasha is likely to win regardless of whether she goes to Poland or to Minsk, so why not just have her get her second win as early as possible?
Also. Putting Stasya's name in the slot for JGP6 is likely to be more about refraining from anointing 2nd spots to skaters who have yet to skate their first JGP ever (i.e. Dasha) than about choosing where they want to put Stasya (or Alena for that matter). Now that Dasha has a strong shot at winning in Latvia, if she does beat Rika Kihira soundly here, there will be probably another shuffle to put her into a confirmed 2nd JGP spot. I would like to see her in Poland so that she does not have to face Rika again + probably Young You in JGP7.
Yup. It's just like how Sima and Masha both spent extra years in juniors till they were able to rack up sufficient medals in JGP, JGPF and JW to move up to seniors. The only thing is, that system doesn't seem to be working the same way anymore if skaters start to peak at 13 instead of 15-16 (hope Nastya Gubanova can come back!). This is creating a topsy turvy situation where the girls at 15-16 yrs could be competitive with current seniors (post puberty) but yet get beaten by every wave of new juniors.
It probably also has partly to do with it being an Olympic year (i.e. if they didn't earn it, they would not be competing with existing seniors for Oly berths).
The bottom line is, it is up to Russian federation to decide to whom they allow to go to seniors. Whether it has to be earned or not, the number of GP slots is limited, so they want to send there the strongest skaters possible. If someone did ok but not brilliant at the junior level, why would they support him/her to move upwards? If Konstantinova skaters well this year, she will be send to two JGP events, possibly JGPF and chance to go to junior worlds. All the points earned from these competitions goes to her world ranking, which will be good for her the following season. If she moved up, she may be doing B competition, possibly one GP, but she would be nowhere near the podium at the GP and the points earned from the competitions would be mch less than medalling at the junior level. So one can argue, it is for her own good to stay junior and earn the points, if she wants to have two GP events the next season.

Can Gubanova move elsewhere and represent another country so she doesn't wind up buried by Eteri's girls forever? Her skating is a gift to the world - I imagine she could flourish with a technician like Rafael Arutyunyan, for example.
Of the girls we have seen of Eteri's on the JGP so far, I do think Daria is my favorite. Very graceful, but a little slow. Her elegance combined with Anastasia's speed would be

It's only going to be one or two more years before all of Russia's World/Olympic spots go to ladies that Eteri coaches. It would be nice to see more diversity amongst the ladies' styles by then.

As if it's Eteri's problem. It's problem of other Russian coaches who can't teach their girls to not fall, fully rotate their jumps and be clean on the landings.

Where did I say it was Eteri's problem? Am I allowed to write a post saying what I would personally enjoy seeing as a viewer and fan without someone getting very defensive and rather rude towards other coaches?I like seeing a wide variety of styles of skating represented, regardless of jumps. Seeing Evgenia, Maria, and Anna together at Worlds last year was wonderful - all three girls were SO different, and I enjoyed every one of them. Not every one of Eteri's girls is a carbon copy of one another, but the differences between them are not as dramatic, and they have many similarities. Maybe some fresh chroeographic input would help.

How tall is Alisa FEDICHKINA? She looks so much taller than last season? And by the way, did she change her coach? The guy at K&C is different from the coach with semi-bald hair??
Daria appears to be slow, and at times have trouble to keep up with the music. I would put Alisa ahead of her.

I'd say Elizaveta Nugumanova has a big potential as a skater of another style, except her lutz/flip all her jumps are very good. She also has beautiful spins. She's charming. But... Don't know who teached her to jump lutz and flip. it's horrible. :disapp:

she's listed as 1.57. but looks like she's grown by a couple of cm, 1.60 cm i will say.
her bald coach are at test skates in sochi now with dmitri aliev, this guy must be an assistant coach or something
Same with Alisa. Dunya wasn't slower than she is. Alisa skated slow.
