She just keeps getting better.. it's crazy. I think even her jumps looked better than before, and now the axel is pretty cool with the spread eagle entry, and she goes right into the CoSp. Surely she'll further polish the program during the season as she's always done and it'll look even better later on!

From the very beginning of this program, I stand with my eyes closed, and people hear the beating of my heart, and then I seem to come out of my body, take a step, as if I see myself from the outside, fear in my eyes and misunderstanding of what is happening.

I'll just pretend I didn't read this and remind myself not to read her future interviews regarding the SP

I don't care what is libretto says... whatever is helping her to interpret this music the way she did. I will welcome it.
The way she's letting her body interpret the music, and it's pretty masterful.
This program is a masterpiece. I hope the LP delivers just as well.

I think I died clinically also after reading this. But on the bright side people who didn't read it can still enjoy program blissfully not knowing what Averbukh tried to say :v

No matter really what music/theme Zhenya takes, there're people who absolutely hate it. So I'm not surprised at all. I even think it's fine especially when we talk about two time world champion.

Would you like it better if she takes Carmen or POTO or R&J themes? Will people be more satisfied?

One thing I really like about her is that she never tries to please everyone and never goes with safety choices for music.

I applaud that Zhenya, being a young skater, takes everything into her own hands. She knows what she wants to do. She knows what she wants to convey. People are gonna hate, she will still do what she has in mind anyway.

Sure, it's Olympic season, some people might say that it's better if she picks lighter and clearer theme. But it's her own skating, let her be, let her explore.

I quite like the music myself. The choreography isn't really telling anything for now, but we'll see due time.

You're right, I also like she didn't go completely safe - we've seen decades of safe, and she is the future.

About the haters - that is just a hopeless case: whatever she does, they'll complain. Last year she was "extravagant" - they say it's too much and she should go for a more classic program. Now she does Chopin - they say it's boring. Haters will be haters.

Last year when she had bright light theme for her SP she actually received more critics so I feel optimistic now )))

And the theme of soul and soul wandering is actually very popular in Japan and Korea, as far as I know. So I hope it will receive a positive responce.

Lovely! I'm so glad Zhenya and Alina are friends, they will be each other's huge competition this year, so it's nice that the loser (or should I say - second placed) will always at least kinda be happy their friend won

Just watched Zhenya's FP from Instagram live. All I could say is I have never seen her skated like that before perhaps all the backloading messed her up. The backloading of the SP is nice but in the LP I though it was rushed throughout. I love the beginning and the ending pose. I thought she focued on the jumping aspect to much; I liked the interpretation of the SP better than the FP.

I love her new sping move.
