Oh my gosh! Those last two lift positions. I generally don't like those blade on the upper thigh lifts, but here they've maintained an emotional connection in the position that makes the blade on the leg redundant and means it will feel integrated with the close holds of the step sequences, rather than a stand-alone trick to impress an audience. Then there's the lean on the spread eagle curved lift from Guillaume, with Gabi with both arms outstretched and higher up than last year: that's an amazingly thought-out and incredibly aesthetic position. This is obviously the free dance. Thanks Maya for sharing.
 
Hi everyone! I am new on this website but I was following it since a while, looks very interesting.

I have just read on the AFP the song they will dance on for the SD is a mix of "Shape of you" and "Thinking out loud" by Ed Sheeran.

Thanks for the info :) There was a guessing game on what their SD music might be, and it seems like one poster got it right!

It will be interesting, I love the new lifts. I expected costumes more stylized but they suit them so much better !

And at least we know what Gaby has to do tonight, whiten her skates :laugh:

I've been visiting this thread for a while to see the news but I wasn't brave enough to post something. Seeing the new pictures (which are amazing, thank you so much for them!) and also new members was a 'game-changer' though... I hope you don't me another visitor of this thread and a huge fan of Gabriella&Guillaume. :)

Do you think that Ed Sheeran is really the choice for SD?

Welcome, Anna! (Ahoj ;) :biggrin:)

I think that Ed Sheeran is most likely true, we knew that they're skating to non-Latin music and that the songs they're using are quite popular. Also, the AFP website seems quite legit, and there's even a video from the training, which unfortunately you can only access when you're a subscriber.

ETA: I was kinda hoping that they'd go with a mix of Diamonds and Only Girl by Rihanna, but Ed Sheeran will do as well.
 
Hhhmmm, the Israeli Tobias and Tkachenko also have Shape of You as (part of?) their SD. Anyway, can't wait for tomorrow! Gaby's dress is gorgeous, lovely colour, and Guillaume's blouse is... well, interesting :D :D

Wow, wouldn't that be awesome! I just don't think they would get away with it rhythm-wise. But how about it for an EX?

Well, I'm still hoping they chose something different for the SD, but I haven't seen the programme, so I'm not going to judge. I'm sure they'll make it great regardless the music choice. :)
 
Her dress is absolutely gorgeous, the color is perfect such a rich and dark blue :love: GUillaume's costume needs to be seen in movement I think so I reserve my opinion. Guillaume is one talented man, FB/S's costumes are gorgeous, her dress moves so well on the ice.
Welcome to all the new first time posters in this thread, it's great to have new fans around and people to obsess over our favorites skaters.

Of course they will! P/C can make nails on chalkboard seem like a symphony by angels!
