2017-18 State of U.S. Ladies Skating

Can't see it for some reason. Link?

Neither can I. However, I can tell you that skating fans here in Central Ca. are watching her every move. With Nationals being in her backyard, I think she's hoping to have a Rudy Galindo moment and take the title in her hometown.

... ETA: I just saw the links from Merry Neiditch, thx! Perhaps that was the one I saw before, in which case I would say that it does show that Phillip choreographed at least one of her "summer" SPs.

Glad we now are on the same page.

Polina edmunds JUST posted 3F and 3Lz on her Instagram story. Nice ones too :)

Can't see it for some reason. Link?

AFAIK, impossible to link to Instagram stories, unfortunately.
(Unless someone re-posted the content elsewhere.)

If you are logged in on the Instagram app, stories will appear at the top of the screen. But only for approx. 24 hours before disappearing.

Speaking of Instagram stories, Mirai's has a series of her practicing her triples including several 3Axels. The most intriguing though was the 'Tano 3Lutz! It was my fave jump along with the final 3Axel! I wish we could save and share these Story videos!

If you have Chrome there is an add on you can use to download these stories. It's called Chrome IG Story.

Also Karen is competing an a club competition this weekend. No video, of course. However, after the two times she won it she had her best seasons. So good luck, Karen!

Is Ashley Wagner competing at the same small event as Karen Chen???

USFS Instagram Q & A with Mirai Nagasu:

The second question is: "What do you enjoy about competing?" :)

@Krunchii Captured the vids! Thanks again!! ...

Thx for capturing the Mirai videos. :thank:

Hottest summer comp ever, LOL. :D

I'm sure somebody is going to tape Ashley's skates.

Yeah... But a Raf acted as though they wanted to keep it low key, so I didn't mention it. Cats out the bag, I guess. :confused2:

But yes, this is the first time of the season that Karen and Ashley go head to head. First of at least four times. It will be very interesting to see what happens. Hopefully protocols will be available on Monday.

No prob that you did not mention it.

That said, I do not think I did anything wrong by mentioning what I happened to stumble upon on Facebook.

I was clicking around because mrrice's question in the Men's thread about Shotaro Omori got me curious about Sho. I always have liked Sho, who has competed in SoCal events in years past.
Didn't find any competition news re Sho, but Ashley's name naturally jumped out at me.

ETA:

In a Champs Camp article, Lynn Rutherford had reported:
Wagner does not plan to enter a Challenger Series event, although she said she might test her programs at a local club competition.
http://web.icenetwork.com/news/2017/08/28/250558720/champs-camp-chatter-chen-authors-first-book (Aug 28)

So the light bulb turned on in my head that this event could be the club comp to which Ashley had referred.

FYI for mrrice, if you are reading this post:
Just a few weeks ago, Sho returned as a cast member of An Evening With Champions.
I don't know what else he has been up to lately.

I think it's fine to mention it now because it!s been on Facebook. But I've known for over a week. I found out when I was trying to figure out who is going to be competing there. I'm glad they decided to mention that. Everyone who's going to the competition deserves to know that there's going to be a treat in store for them.

If you have a recording (or better yet, a video) of you playing the piece, I would love to hear it

So, this is some time back when Mirai's Nocturne program was discussed... but I recently gave a recital in Stockholm which was streamed live and they put up the encore on YT just today, so here is the Chopin Nocturne in the original version for piano with myself:

Skating lesson just reported SP scores for Socal interclub.

Karen is in the lead with 70.11, her combo was iffy. Ashley is 2nd with 67.45.

No protocols yet.

Sigh... This is the worst part of club comps. The wait...
