At a time when figure skating needs all the fans it can get, what a sad thing that people just can't keep from attacking skaters and fans of skaters that they perceive to be a threat. Some of this stuff is the most toxic, condescending garbage I've ever seen. Several of the accounts I was looking at recently were written by people who were not only haters but who are proud of the fact that they're haters. Sorry for the mini rant. I try so hard to focus on the positive things most of the time!
Tumblr is a strange place. There seem to be people out there whose only purpose in life is to show the world why everything that Shoma does, is not good, but of course Yuzuru does all those things perfectly. I adore Yuzuru, but the only thing those people accomplish is make me want to dislike him, which I'm sure is *not* their intended purpose at all. :noshake:
Maybe, just maybe, one day in the distant future, the world will realize that repeatedly bad-mouthing the same skaters only makes the person doing the bad-mouthing look foolish and very, very sad, and it doesn't make the reader suddenly like the other skater more; the end result is the exact opposite.
This is a weird sport where people claim to love it as a sport but fail to acknowledge the sporty side of it. Talking about technique is a must in a sport. But because it relates to music so everything sporty will be ignored as long as it justifies the love.Tumblr is a strange place.
