Next time, all gold swirlies! :p I'm not sure if anyone can quite match Her Royal Fluffiness! :peace:

Hers are tad bit longer too! Reminds me I actually also really do look forward to see our stylish Coach Idol. I love her so much! Fun thing, in the Skate Canada predictions thread I think almost 90 % are predicting a win for Shoma. At Skate CHANada.....Woah, I hope the expectations aren't set too high for our boy!

Attack!!! 攻める!!!

I looked at the predictions thread and saw that Shomita is in 1st in many lists. I gave up on the predictions this year! Last year, mine were so bad I was afraid they would put me on the Naughty Chair for having the Worst Predictions Ever. I can't stand it when there is this total news blackout thing. He loves to just disappear. Actually it's great that he can do that. No doubt he IS jogging around Regina somewhere. And just in time for the competition, the weather is really taking a turn towards much colder. Brrrrrr!

When are you leaving? I joined the predictions game for the first time this year and did pretty well at Rostelecom! I have a feeling though Skate Canada will kill any progress I made, because I have absolutely no idea. I chose Shoma as a winner only because of his technical advantage but it could go either way. And don't get me started on Ladies. I don't want to put Anna on my list because I secretely wish for her to win, which will never happen, but I feel like I'm jinxing her anyway. :)

I leave Wednesday...SC is really tough for predictions. The only sure thing I see is Virtue and Moir for 1st in the Ice Dance. I will be SO disappointed if Queen Anna isn't there. Lots of good competitors in all disciplines, and the pairs -- yikes! Hope Shoma is eating lots and lots of beef to get ready to knock 'em dead! :dance2:

Nice nails!
ShOOOOMMMAAAA where are you???? i wonder if he is in Regina already or if he stopped in Montréal/Toronto for some last minute coaching. (I wonder about Marin as well since she also left early). I was on google maps and the area around the ice center is not really nice but there is a Marriott hotel just next to it so maybe they are staying there.

The official hotel is the Double Tree. The closest hotel is the Marriott Residence Inn, which is sold out since everyone (fans) wants to be within walking distance of the arena. My guess is that Sho (and probably Marin?) went straight to Regina. Seemed like Tokyo to Toronto to Regina was the quickest (?) route, and it still looked like a LONG haul. Don't envy them that flight! I'd need 2 weeks just for my back to recover! Lucky our Shomita loves gaming. He probably did 14 hours straight of his favorites!

Marin was just in Canton MI. ;)

or just slept....

and flying to Vancouver and then to Regina makes far more sense... doesn't it? not that it matters, lol... just fun to guess how people make their way to the prairies....

Glad to know I'm not the only one who thinks about stuff like that! I think I plugged in Tokyo to Regina to see what Travelocity would show, and it showed connections through Toronto...I know I've gone places where I've said "Shouldn't I have flown the other direction?!' :laugh2:

ETA -- He was on ANA, and there is only one flight with one stop. That flight stops in Calgary. Hopefully the Federation didn't give him a ticket with two or three stops.

Im starting to miss him already...How are you doing Shoma? Have you slept well? Have you eaten enough? Sometimes I wish he has a twitter or instagram account like other young Japanese skaters like Marin and Wakaba...(or probably he has one but we don't know...) so that we can know more directly from him. (I like the blog too but I prefer instant information directly from him.)

I'm glad he doesn't have a social media account. For...reasons.

Can't deny I'm totally curious what he's doing though. Arriving so early, I wonder if he'll also do that in France? I read the ISU PDF and they only pay the skaters hotel and flight if you arrive a day early and leave immediately. So I guess the japanese fed helps out here. It's definitely the right strategy, because JetLeg killed Shoma at the GPF last year.
