Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

I love this as well (and the way Yuzu gave personalities to his jumps, poor quad Loop didn’t get a mention because it misbehaved)!

I would say I’m a combination of 4S and 4T, so I’m a 4S4T 😂.

Did anyone else see Yuzu playing with those gold streamers looking like he was trying to make himself a gold medal which he then hung around his neck? This kid does love his gold.

https://twitter.com/mutta0605/status/922139686247727104 he is not subtle about it!

Kozuka talked about CoR in Nikkan sport.

The best harvest for Hanyu-senshu was of course 4Lutz. He was strong to make it successful at the first try in the competition. I think he can feel that it is the advantage to have multiple types of quad, which will be his confidence in spending this season. (About mistakes after 4Lutz) I wonder if they were effected by doing 4Lutz. It is difficult to incorporate 4Lutz and make the program perfect. 4Loop was not good in the actual performances in this competition, it was overturned in SP.

In this season, I was expecting the skaters would come to this competition with the state of "see how it goes", but my impression was that everyone was really attacking from the beginning. Leaving the Olympics aside, they will keep going with this momentum this season. Chen-senshu seemed to have bad condition on 4Loop in the practice. He avoided it in FS, but he could deal with different kinds of quad. It is his strength of having five types of quad.

Although Hanyu-senshu had faults, he has always been a slow starter. After turning his head at the beginning of SP, he did a back cross (crossing his legs and sliding backwards), but I felt he was not like him in that series of movements. Still, I think he was more organized compared with his usual first game in GPS. He will bring together from now on.

Being a Yuzu-fan has taught me to be more patient...I know every season we all need to endure some difficult first couple of competitions. -This year, Yuzu and all the other guys are coming out at a totally different level. It's quite amazing. NHK is also not far off...I'm planning to travel to my home town to watch it with my 'big' family group...all Yuzu-fans. -How do you-all plan to watch NHK?
-Furtively at work?
-Won the Lottery and can watch it IN PERSON??
-At an unholy hour of the night clutching a pillow and a drink?
-In the day time, taking a 'sick day'?
-After it's all over, so as not to jinx it?

NHK for me will be: At an unholy hour of the night clutching my Pooh and my stomach (since he gives me acid reflex each time he competes).

When NHK was the last event of the grand prix it used to happen over the US Thanksgiving holiday, which was useful because it allowed me to stay up at the unholy hour after taking a nap from a good meal. Now I'll be waking up early on a work day again, like with Rostelecom, which left me exhausted as I still haven't had a chance to catch up on sleep yet :bed:

Wow, you are amazing. I didn't even know it's possible to do such thing in photoshop

Thanks! Photoshop is super multi-purpose. You can make your own brushes and paint pictures in any style...that's my job actually. It was so difficult to choose a pose for this picture because there were so many beautiful photos from the Gala. I'd get distracted looking at all of them!
Wow!! I was tempted as well, but there's no way my work comes even close to that masterpiece! I love the rest of your skaters artwork as well. I love your style! It's amazing!!
Thanks so much! glad you like it. If you do paint something, post it here! I'd love to see it. Seeing all the styles people have and the kind of crafts they make related to skating is really amazing. I'm like this all the time. :eeking: :luv17:

I'm taking a payed holiday on Friday, so I'll watch the competition on TV and PC from Friday to Sunday, probably chatting on LINE with my friends who love Yuzuru. I'm sure my parents will watch it, too, but in the different room  I hope everyone has great weekend!

Most of us are really quiet when Yuzu skates but my mom yells the whole time and is always asking us 'What is that jump??' She's so loud. But it's fun to watch with family. When I watch by myself, I livechat with them during competition.

My parents are quarreling during the whole performance: "That was a quad Lutz!" - "No! Quad Flip!!!"
When the skater's finished, I have to chuckle and say: "Calm down. It was only a triple."

It will be difficult with NHK in my case: I have to give an algebra tutorial for ingeneering freshmen during the men's short. Would be fun to have Yuzu on-screen above the chalkboard :laugh2:
"Sorry guys. We have to interrupt our lesson for three minutes to watch Chopin 3.0.3."

@Interspectator: Phenomenal painting with the golden ribbons!

As much as I love Yuzu I usually avoid watching competitions live and I definitely don't interrupt sleep for it. I still wonder how the heck I plan to deal with the Olympics and wonder why I am doing this to myself. The anxiety in Helsinki was already unbearable though he did make it worth it. CoR free skate was more of an outlier because they happened to be airing when I woke up so I decided to be a brave girl. While I was happy to witness the lutz live, as soon as he doubled that toe I knew it was probably not going to happen that day overall.

I think that's a good idea, who wouldn't love a good piece of Chopin in the middle of algebra tutorial?

What do you think about Worlds 2018 now? Do you think he will go?

Regardless results at Olys if he is healthy enough he will go, it is not Yuzu's style to skip competitions with no reason. also next worlds is in Japan and they will need to earn sports there.
