Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

Yeah, going with only google translate, her answer doesn't seem mean spirited at all. Just an awkward question. But we all know the "love" argument by now... I cringed at the interviewer who goes on to say that a couple succeeds if they convince the audience they are dating IRL... Of course, there is nothing more to ice dance :rolleye: I can see it now -- a team's success depending on how many tinhat fans they have

I think she meant that they don't have a sexual sizzle between them based on their dancing being the coming together of opposites (as men and women are perceived by some). I agree: that's not what they are about. And If i'm honest i don't really see that with any couple currently skating...... although a lot are pantomiming it.
Google translate is a rough tool.

I have news : for Miss Stepanova, P/C's programs = no love and no chemistry, just beautiful skating (and very easy). https://rsport.ria.ru/interview/2017...127868940.html
In fact the audience is stupid, standings ovations for programs without love and chemistry. Miss Stepanova is jealous

I don't think she said P/C programs are easy to skate. She said "под музыку и очень легко". I think she meant P/C skating is light (not meaning easy), which indeed it is and which is their big asset.

I don't agree P/C have no chemistry. They do have, though I suppose she meant sexual chemistry. And I here agree with icetigger "that's not what they are about".

I'm assuming she meant effortless idk

I'll give her the benefice of the doubt, really it's actually no big deal. Translations can come up a bit wrong sometimes.

I think MFD said something first about "Gabbi and Guillaume". But I didn't understand. Can someone please tell what MFD and M.Hubbell say? Thanks!

Marie France says something like "Gabi and Guillaume's [on the speakers]- Shape of You" which is playing in the arena. Madison replies "oh yeah! gabby and Guillaume [now] to do your short dance?" The bits in square brackets are the bits I'm unsure of. But I'm pretty sure that's the gist.

EDIT: Anyasnake's right: it is "Gabi and Guillaume must be thinking of you!"

Something like : "Gabby and Guillaume must be thinking of you" and then she points out the music in the arena.

I do not worry about it:laugh:. They want gold and will do everything to get it, their programs are great:luv17: . My concern is that they do not ski but ice dance with judges, federations. I just do not like the message of the judges on this competition (they hardly do better for the note): the Canadians are unbeatable (the score is almost perfect and this is the 1st Grand Prix of the season). We will see tonight and especially next week:drama:

I know that I'm not worried in the least. If the judges are handing out WR like candy, P/C are obviously getting theirs in the FD. And with their awesome SD, there will be no huge gap this time. P/C's Olympic gold is in the bag.

Madison just said :"Gabi and Guillaume wanna do your short dance?" and then got interrupted by the crowd's reaction to Zach's display.

I wonder if they're gonna go back to Gadbois in between Cup of China and Trophée de France, it would make sense to just train in France for those 2 weeks and rest from all that travel and jet lag. Plus they can spend a bit of time with their family, always good for morale.

Good question:). I guess they have to leave tomorrow for China. If they come back to Montreal it's for a short week ... they have already done it and are used to traveling but it must be tiring (long flights, jet lag).
If they decided to come to France directly, they will train in Lyon and /or Clermont (you have to find them hours at the rink) , that supposes that Haguenauer (I think ) stays with them.
For the masters, they had arrived one week before the competition (they trained in Lyon before Villard) and they trained in Clermont before going to Finland. Haguenauer and their physical trainer (photo of Guillaume on instagram and I saw him in Villard) were with them.

I don't know. They had those 2 weeks between GPs last year too. This year it could be possible, but that means Haguenauer stays with them for 3 straight weeks, and he's still a coach in Gadbois so I'm not sure. But now that V/M, H/D and P/C have more individualized training for this special year, I could see that happening. I'm sure any town (well Lyon or Clermont) would agree to lend them rinks for at least 3 to 4 hours a day. But Grenoble is only 1h30 away from Lyon (with a car), so that could be a option to train there.

I forgot the important issue of the coach. 3 weeks away is indeed much for Romain. They'll probably fly back. They are used to it after all. I wish them the best. Is there anyone going to cup of China, maybe a Chinese fan of theirs out there. We always love having a spy in the rink.

Here's a few photos I took of Gabriella and Guillaume at Finlandia Trophy.

They were awesome, beautiful and enchanting - as usual. They won by a large margin... despite a mistake in the FD (fall) that was so uncharacteristic, it was quite a shock!

I'm wishing them luck for Cup of China this coming weekend! (Not that they need luck...!)
