I don't get all the harsh judgement over Konstantinova here - I like the three of them, but she really fills the rink compared to the other two. Also, Polina's jumps with all that height look borderline UR to me. And Gubanova just seems slow compared to Konstantinova, but then Stanislava always finds a way to fall in a program.

Her posture isn't great, i'm more angry when her scores are inflated mostly because i know she often makes mistakes between the two programs while falls are so rare to see from her competitors.

But having said that she's growing on me: at the end of the day she can backload the lutz-toe and the flip in the short which makes her competitive, and she doesn't have edge issues. Her style of skating is wild, but at least she isn't stoneface all the time.

I'd prefer Gubanova any day though: artistically i think only Nugumanova can match her in juniors.

I read reports from morning practice she landed several. so I guess she needs more practice and more time to land it on competitions.
anyway, i'm really glad that fall from 4s doesn't ruin the rest of the program for her. And she is able to land her crazy content in a second-half 3lz3lo, 3F2t2t, 3Lz3T, 3F, 3S, 2A.
This girl is so good I just can't

Quads are very, very difficult. Eteri is smart to let her play around in competitions like these. Her overall content is crazy so she will win, which will keep her confidence going but she can work at landing the quad without too much pressure. She'll get it, sooner or later, this is all great practice for her. Such a talented girl.

I too don't get why Konstantinova got so much hate here. She has a unique style, not the same as Anna P., but unique in a way that draws you in. She always has unique programs and good edges.

I am neutral on Stasya...I don't like her programs but I don't find her posture as awful as Radionova's - it doesn't bother me. I like that she is a powerful skater and not another prissy princess skating to boring, soft music. So many of the ladies look completely interchangeable to me and you can't say that about her. I guess people would be nicer if she wasn't Russian and a threat to their favorites.

I know right? She was the only one who jumped 3-3 combo. So many talented girls from Davydov's school along with Svetlana's and Eteri's schools.

In the step sequence, I believe they're called twists(not fully familiar with English terms...)? Anyway, the rapid twirls... She actually does them both clockwise and counterclockwise, which would be a requirement for lvl 4 steps, right? I RARELY see any junior skaters, even top ones, doing them both clockwise and counterclockwise and of course, Akatieva for instance doesn't do that either.

In any case, the jumps are nice but that's not what I got blown away by.

I hope Polina gets a new costume for her SP for her senior debut. Not that the costume is not good; just add some freshness to an old program. She skated her SP pretty well last season, so I don't think skated better now. Her LP is still a question mark though.

I think Gubanova's artistry is overrated. I don't see much variations in her arm movement, no matter what music she skates too. Hope her team gives her a better choreography. It appears to me that her arm movement is characterized by loose shoulders, and she sort of throws her arms around. They are not stiff but not exactly soft either.

Although I do agree her posture is bad, at least she is interesting on the ice (at least, in my opinion).
I'll take her over a skater like Sotskova any day.
Actually I hope Konstantinova gets the third Olympic spot should Tsurskaya or Tuktamysheva do badly at Nationals.
