Marin should have definitely scored at least 130 pts for FS and that would have put her in 3rd. Which means she has a chance to make the GPF. This is so frustrating. :slink:

Daisuke and Marin first met when she was about 2nd grade (elementary school) about 8 years ago.
Daisuke: you may be taller than me now?
Marin: as we skate, we eye each other... (they are now almost the same height)
These two skaters trained at the same rink, and in other ways are similar.
Daisuke: We both like there to be a large audience, larger the better. (Marin agrees)
Daisuke: It gets the excitement up. *Dai used the english word 'tension' here, but a better fit for the meaning behind it is excitement.
Marin: I'm happiest when I'm skating in front of a large audience.
Daisuke thinks they are alike, Marin says she looks up to Dai a lot, so she wants to be like him.

About Marin's new program, she says she wanted to see her self skating to this music. She is a skater who gets more confidence from the 'feel' of a thing than repeated training.
About the Olympics she said, it's slowly turning from a dream to a reality, she really wants to go to the Olympics.
Last questions to Dai at the end of the interview. How do I perform beyond myself in big competitions? (tips, or secrets to doing this)
Daisuke: I didn't do very many run throughs you know, (Marin: I know!) When I did, it was just one a day and no more than that. No do-overs. So if I messed up there, no matter how much I wanted to do it again, I wouldn't. I trained every day for that one time.
Marin: Wow, I will use this.
Daisuke: I trained my mentality by doing this. Maybe it will suit you, since you can concentrate on one try.

Good catch. I left it 'tension' initially, because that's the word Dai used, but often when we use an English word in Japan the meaning is altered so 'excitement' is a better fit. :thumbsup:

i think that's safer but tbh i didn't understand why she didn't go for solo 3lz in the sp instead of Lutz combo when she wanted to up her BV

Honestly, just include this to start. I think many of us here love little tidbits like this and the explanations of how things translate. Leave it as tension but put the explanation in parenthesis... then your post is doubly awesome. Basically there are a lot of nerds here that just love information :biggrin:

Same here. Initially, I thought she would go for 3F3T and solo 3Lz.

I think it would be the best option tbh But I get why she tried 3Lz-3T. She wants solo 3Lo because it's her best jump with sal and she has difficult entrance for it so it gains her better than GOE than solo flip or lutz. I would love her to still try going for that solo lutz but it's better to go with comfortable lay-out now.

I kinda understand why she went back to her old layout. I hope she will try to add 3Lz back again though.
She can bring back that spiral entry+3Lz (the 1st jumping pass of the beetlejuice program). I'm so in love with that! :love:
