Wow I am absent from the FF for a few days (work related business trip) and just got caught up on this thread.
Firstly, a Big Welcome to all the new Shoma fans to Fan Fest, there are to many to name! I am glad you all
have come aboard to cheer for our Shomita!
This business of Shoma having an unfair advantage because he is in France early is so ridiculous. Also heard crazies talking about
that his sponsor is buying the GPF gold for him and that even if Shoma wins fair and square he won't really be GPF winner.
Where do these people get this stuff from and to go on twitter and profess this slander against Shomas as truth is plain wrong.
But we are here to Cheer for the Winter Prince!
Can't wait to hear some first hand reports!

It's okay, it really was a wish more than anything, the schedules were in the way. I know now that if I want to watch a competition in Japan, I can do it without going through the whole lottery business but need to buy them early. The pictures from the magazine are definitely really nice. Shoma is really gaining popularity- all these magazines with him as the front cover, plus the GP events ads featuring Shoma (he was the only non-Canadian in the ads on Skate Canada, and now the one being shown for France, from what you mentioned). So cool!

I wondered if they were going maybe for some Shrek-like type creature and somehow just missed the mark! Poor Sho, he was already scared at 4CC last year with that huge panda creature that towered over him!

I think Shoma's team has had a plan from the beginning of the season, a plan that is only focused on Shoma and not on what the competition does or doesn't do. The win at Skate Canada makes him safe. And in the grand scheme of things, Internationaux isn't as important for him to win. So, if Shoma wants to win the Olympics or even the GPF against Nathan he has to raise his BV and start to skate harder programs. Even if he falls or it won't work out in France, it's good to start skating the final layout now. I trust in ShoSho. From the beginning I actually thought he might lose France against Fernandez. Let's see.

I think he has proven to be quite a consistent competitor but that doesn't help with my horrible nerves and always waiting for the worse thing to happen

I think if Shoma skates his full arsenal clean the only skater that could beat him is Yuzu.

If he's clean, Javier won't catch him in France. Even with the clean Skate Canada layout. But Javier probably is out for redemption. He has to show the judges that CoC was really only because of sickness and he's still very much a podium contender. One might say he should play it safe, to minimize a risk of injury, as he is not going to GPF anyway, but momentum is important, too. So I think that actually Javier has more to lose in France, than Shoma.
I'm still not sure if Shoma can beat a clean Javier in the SP. The LP is another story.

Yes Javi has 2 quads in his SP and his quads have gotten very high GOE in the past. PC's will be higher than Shoma's too.
But Shoma could make it up in the LP and still win.
It will be a good competition between Shoma and Javi. I love Javi too so I hope he is in good shape.
