2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

It seems puremagic is completely focused on junior ladies lately )
The state of the senior ladies really isn't great right now. And hasn't been for a while. There's quite the void and Medvedeva being injured certainly doesn't help. Junior ladies, even pre-junior ladies are far more interesting. In my re-watchability scale no senior skater is even in top 5.

We are getting picky. Senior ladies atm are much better than in 2015 (for example). And they did quite well today at GPF. But I agree that junior ladies were even better this time

Konstantinova won Golden Spin of Zagreb with 199.68. Fedichkina second with 178.2. Tuktamysheva third with 175.9

Congratulations to Stanislava! But what the hell... Did she EVER SHOW A CLEAN FREE PROGRAM? EVER? Sad about Tuktamysheva and Fedichkina. Pathetic scores.

Tukt could have turned her season around with a good showing here, but she has approximately 0 percent of making the team now...

But you know what? I will have a meeting with my good friend Jimmy Beam. Ugh. I need to be fully prepared for any result. 🥃🍺 🍻

There is sth wrong around this girl. She might have peaked in 2015, but she is not this bad either.

Congrats Stanislava!
My lovely secret Olympic sub is gathering precious trophies, medals and reputation. :yes2:

PS. Have you ever met girl like HER before? :luv17:

No, please do not send Stasya to the Olympics, my nervous system is not strong enough to survive that! :drama: And I doubt hers is at this point. Let her start smaller with GP spots.

Tuk should have left Mishin at some point but I doubt she is able to do that. Mishin's coaching method and programs are outdated. I see a lot of the same Tuk problems in Samodurova now. Basically ladies skating isn't the same since Medvedeva.

Anyone care to give me a tip about the Russian language?

I often hear skaters saying something that I would really like to know what it means. I’ll spell it out the way I hear it.

SA-VON-YA

It sounds a lot like and rhymes with Sonya. Any tips would be greatly appreciated because I’ve been wondering for a while.

Could it be сего́дня ("sewodnya") = today? Maybe a sound example would be helpful.

Yep, i thought about "today" too, and it could make sense in skating context, for example talking about how they just skated.

Examples would be good to be able to translate better, like maybe a video where they say it somewhere
