When I saw the picture I got really worried because she had photoshopped it really, really heavily. I hope all is well with her!

I think it's tricky because this year she has only skated SP really well, but I think Kaetlyn is a lock for SP... I guess it depends on how she skates her new (old) FS at nats?
 
I too hope she's alright.

I just cannot comprehend posting that online. Even if she had such thoughts and wanted to edit it for herself(I'm sure people sometimes have fantasies about looking different?), posting it online would really just cause a lot of drama and unnecessary attention. Unless it really was a mistake and she had accidentally chosen an edited photo instead of the original.

Well, in the end these are her private matters. I just hope she's going to make the right decisions for herself.

She photoshops a few of her photos. I hope she's okay, but it says more about society and the so-called idea of the perfect female image than it does about her. This girl couldn't be fitter, healthier or more beautiful and yet...

It's really tough.

On another note is it true that she's working on a 4T? That's actually what I initially came in here to ask.

On a sidenote, I was checking Gabby's instagram to see if she had posted any news, and the last photo she posted had me a little worried. I think for me what made me worried wasn't even that she edited the pictures - a lot of people do that, tbh - but the extent to which she had edited it. Not only it was very noticeable, but it looked really creepy :\

The thing with the deleted picture is that it was a really bad job of photoshop, more evident than usual.
 
This deleted edited photo had more skinny limbs than pre-puberty Medvedeva and with zero calves. I don't know why anyone would want to look like that, and I don't know of any men(Or women, why not) who would find it attractive.
 
Wishing you all the best in this week’s championships, Gabi with your known-for WOW (!!!!) factor. I don’t think the ceiling at Thunderbird Arena is very high, so with the height of your jumps (especially 3T-3T combo), you may have to take care not to knock your noggin! ;)

Gabby Killed it out there!!! She needs to keep charging because this could be her title.

Skip the 4t and lay down a solid performance instead? Maybe a wise idea :think:

It makes me disappointed that she also fell for that "skinny-beauty" ideal as evidenced by that photoshop work. I can imagine though that being figure skater only reinforces her idealized perception. Daleman is slim, sporty & very fit anyhow, it'd be better to present that real image of her and take pride in that. Not everyone figure skater has to be stick figure to be successful. Hopefully she
does not think of herself that she's "fat", it is absurd but that's how eating disorders start.
 
Gabby was on fire today! I admire her so much for overcoming all of the health issues she has experienced in the last few months. Good luck to her winning the title!

In a recent interview she discusses her issues with disordered eating.
