2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

She's still as lovely as she used to be, that one spin position is beautiful insanity and her jumps are still in the process of recovering, though it's going great, knock on wood. Well done Anna! Welcome back, you've been missed.

Somebody should call an ambulance for tars and Shayuki. I'm afraid for them!
I almost managed to stop crying already!

I really love this SP. So much better than the last one. This really suits her much better! The jumps also are in a better state than I expected. They're really tiny and the 3T looked underrotated but the rest were fine. But wow are they performed late. Forget the last half, all the jumps are on the last third. With those entries, too. Are these supposed to be the simplified versions? Especially love the transition / steps connecting to Lutz. Lifting the leg precisely to the music...

I want to live in that dream forever. Classical music, classical skating, classical XIXc. Anna.:luv17:

Don't you dare to wake me up. :dbana:

Scherbakova - 63.33 (why so low), first place

P.S.: they say 3T was underrotated or problem with edge on flip

Wow, if 63.33 - is the first place, that means it's really Moscow Cup #2. At previous one, there were the same low scores, and I really like it. Better to be strictly judged at home, and then get high scores at international events, than on the contrary.

3T was underrotated from what I saw and she probably gets an edge call on flip of some sort(Likely ! usually but if Moscow Cup is strict it could be e). The step sequence wasn't perfect either but still for a comeback competition... The last time she came back after breaking her arm a year ago she fell on a spin entry and such but in just a few months was absolutely fantastic.

It's decent score for a junior who has never gone international considering Kostornaya scored 62.69 in Moscow Junior Open for her SP last August

Actually, looking at Russian championships from last season where she got 2nd place, she scored 36.15+25.60 for 61.75 points on her SP. She didn't have a ! in that competition.

So for coming back after breaking her leg and scoring higher than that in a competition with notoriously strict judging, I'd say that that's quite alright.

Uh I think the PCS is on the generous side already considering this is Moscow.

Well, that's one way to look at it.

i'd say more than alright!
