Well, looks like winning PCS by 1.2 points can be considered a significant margin in the context of this competition.

I'm curious if they kept her last FS. They should, as it only was used during the last season and they seem to be keeping programs for 2 seasons for her. But if this would be the direction they want to take her programs, I'm also very curious to see what kind of an FS she could get...

3T was underrotated from what I saw and she probably gets an edge call on flip of some sort

Still, I doubted she will go for 3-3 at all in these circumstances!

Actually, looking at Russian championships from last season where she got 2nd place, she scored 36.15+25.60 for 61.75 points on her SP. She didn't have a ! in that competition.

So for coming back after breaking her leg and scoring higher than that in a competition with notoriously strict judging, I'd say that that's quite alright.

For me it's more like a little fairy playing in a garden at night :luv17:. The program reminds me of Yana Kudryavtseva's ball routine to the same music in 2013.

The more I watch this program, the more potential I see in it!

It's clear she's not quite ready to perform at the top of her game yet, but there are so many little things that are going to potentially be absolutely fantastic when she masters this program. We can probably remember the first time she skated her last season's free skate in the fall - She managed to improve it so much during the course of a season. There are so many little nuances like her skating more intensely and more calmly by the mood of the music, so many choreographical elements done to the music and of course, the whole packaging just being quite a bit more mature than I think ever before for her. She just looks so majestic.

I believe that it's possible that if she's able to continue working on this program over the course of this and the next season and has that perfect performance, I might even prefer it over her 16-17 free skate.

No, she can't qualify for it.


However, if she performs well enough they can pick her to go. And she really should have no issues doing well enough considering that there are still some 150-160p level skaters looking to skate there.

There are 18 skaters qualified via Russia Cup(top 9 are guaranteed, 10-18 can be replaced if I understand correctly). #4-6 are Kanysheva, Vasilieva, Kostyuk, who all are behind Anya after the SP. And there still are 12 skaters after them - She should easily be good enough for them to make the decision to include her.

Well if you're familiar with Anya, FS has been the comeback mechanic. She usually was way behind after the SP.

Obviously, it remains to be seen how she actually is able to perform such a challenging program in her first competition when she clearly isn't quite there yet.
