2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

Sad about the fall, but still a pretty good for 1st appearance after 9 month of recovering.

I really hope that the coaches' council will allow Anya to take part in Jr. Nationals. For senior nationals, they allowed Fedichkina in, who didn't fail to qualify by being injured but by not placing high enough at Russian Cup. Anya is more skilled in the age-skill consideration, and she was injured! It's not like she skated awfully and didn't qualify. I think she is definitely ready for jr. nationals and was undermarked a bit here. I'd love to see the protocols.
If I was on the council, I'd put Anya in in a heartbeat. But they might not, because she's not CSKA and because she might become a threat if she performs the way she did her SP.

It was fun to chat with skaters (at least 2 of them were in the chat on youtube stream).

The one weakness that the Eteri girls have (which isn't their fault, really) is that they're given choreography that includes level 2 or level 3 step sequences. They really need to work on that. I bet Kanysheva got level 4...

The moment when everybody hates the club where you trained for 8 years (CSKA) ... ^^

Sorry. I just hate how they have all the political influence. They get a new rink, but Panova, a successful coach, doesn't even have a full size rink for her students to train on? That doesn't make sense to me...

Anna got lvl2, I think they'll will make it lvl4 when she is ready.

183 points should still be more than enough for them to do that... For Russia Cup participants, averaging 183 for 2 of the competitions would total 366 points. And only 3 out of the 18 skaters qualified via that route scored more than 366 points.

When we consider the stingy scoring of this competition and that when skating clean she has 200+ point potential, it really should be a no brainer.

On jump analysis, Flip was the only one UR. The rotation was really slow on that and she didn't rotate at the very end almost at all, unlike in just about every other jump for some reason. The 3T air time looked much better, especially for the first one.

It's ok, CSKA is huge and rich club. And there are always things like that when money and politics are involved.

no. you're wrong
they give 4 level choreography. Sometimes too difficult.

Anna was receiving higher levels before. It's just strick competition and some mistakes were made.... that's all
Evgenia, Alina, Sasha, Nastya they usually got level 4. Alena still struggling with stsq sometimes.

The step sequence was quite clearly simplified. I could remember every single step of it in my sleep and there were plenty of clear alterations to it...

I'm sure both will be planned lvl 4s when she's ready. She was making again some simple errors and even clanged her skates together while skating.
