I cannot get my eyes off this beautiful program. The music is in my ears all das and I downloaded the soundtrack today. Just lovely! It´s a piece of art...
 
Can't believe she has grown artistically that much in 2 months! And it doesn't even take an expert to see it! Zhenya I'm so proud TT^TT
 
Today the Queen of ice - Evgenia Medvedeva has replaced ice with studio, did a cover of the March issue "Topbeauty". Without fatigue shadow, after the European championship race..... Gentle and vigorous smile of the beauty. The ice arena , ballet class, 2 hours "about everything", - a make-up, hair, an interview.... Everything has turned out! We will hold "fists" for a victory at the Olympic Games. Zhenka only on TopBeauty cover! We have made it!!!! Pantene/P&G thanks, are able to choose ambassador!

TAT really found the right words for Zhenya in order to encourage her not to lose her sparkle. I think it is really important to remind her that the whole country is behind her back and that they support her, especially when hard times come. She loves Russia and is proud to represent it. You could tell that from her enthusiasm at the medal ceremony. Although she was 2nd, there she really stood out for me. It is not just her sportsmanship, it's the whole package - she does carry the winner mindset and attitude.

And regarding her gala - as I said before, it is magnificent. It is also full of layers in terms of interpretation. Many people (me inclusive) perceived it as a performance about her feelings at times when she has to fight for what she believes. But I was wondering if it also had something to do with the Olys ban and showing some kind of a protest.

As a soundtrack to a film about the war, performed by Gagarina (and especially in that translation), it sounds as a song specifically about a war. In fact, originally it is much less explicit and more metaphorical.

Any professional artist who's never been in a war but trying to write or sing about it, sounds false. Instead, those who've been, usually don't talk much about it, their poetry only expresses certain subtle feelings, their singing is aloof and sentimental. Viktor Tsoi has never been in Afghanistan or in the army at all, but I would never guess it from his songs - he was a genius, he was among the greatest Russian poets of the XX century. I've never seen people having fought in a war (including myself), who wouldn't feel a deep connection to his songs.

And that's only one of the aspects of Tsoi's music. Nominally, he belonged to the underground, even Wikipedia describes his music as punk rock; but I've seen very different people - from villagers to businessmen - by the will of fate gathered around a campfire with a guitar, and everyone knew Tsoi's songs and sang them. I don't know whether it would be a correct comparison, but I see Bob Dylan as his American counterpart.

Viktor Tsoi died in 1990 in a car accident (outliving the members of the 27 Club by 2 months), but he will always live in our hearts.

P.S. As for Gagarina, she has a beautiful and passionate voice that expresses well what people feel inside from this song.

Something like that! Not fluent in Spanish but it's similar enough to Italian that I think I understood most of it ;)

It's pretty much it :) They were very impressed because of how hard she fought even if she was under pressure, which is new for her. They say the program is wonderful and you really couldn't ask for more from her. That her jumps were a bit tight but her skating is wonderful and elegant. They say Zhenya probably knew after she finished that she wouldn't win tho :(
 
Specifically, before she started they said:
"She has been the queen for the last two years. Queen of Europe. Queen of the world. Queen of everything she has participated. And never, with 18 years, after she has overthrown Tuktamysheva, Yulia Lipnitskaya, has she been ambushed as she is right now. This season she has scored 150, and now she needs almost 9 points more"
After she finished:

This was probably very unnecesary, but I personally like to know every detail of what the commentators said and I had time and i guess it's not gonna hurt anyone.
