Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

i went on a Yuzu spree and now i am all emotional, this will be my 1st olympics where i am concious of everything (started following FS at Sochi but didnt know anything back then) and i have no idea how i am gonna survive!! :dbana: this season has already been an emotional roller coaster in many ways and i bet olympics wont be an exception, but one thing is for sure, if anyone who can make magestic a comeback its gonna be Yuzuru (unless its Satton or Boyangman ) :hap57:

https://youtu.be/S9LSJ4w9Ie8 Suzuki Akiko explains difficult entries of Yuzu’s axel and spins.

Thanks Interspectator! And thanks Yude for the translation. I saw some part of it from IG and wanted to watch the whole thing, and you posted it here~ :thank:
I never realised how hard the entry of the spin which they demonstrated could be, I simply think that’s a very powerful spin and always right on the music. (I particularly like how it was match with the music in LGC :luv17:) Yuzu always put in his whole heart into skating, and it show in every second in his program, can’t wait to see him in a couple weeks!

hiya guys,
so I just bought tickets to men's free and exhibition gala for Worlds 2018 today since JSF said he'd go. I really hope he'll be in good health for the Olympic and Worlds. I think this is one of the few chances I will ever have to see him skate live so I really wish that he would be able to come to the Worlds. He is the one who made me start following this sport and even though I enjoy other performances, he sparks this feeling in me that no one else does. If any of you are going to Milan for the Worlds, I would love to meet you guys, especially since I am going alone (from London). I have a relative in Turin and will be staying there!! gosh, I am so excited.

Yes, the Worlds is close, too!! I hope you're going to have great trip and see Yuzuru defending the title :hap10:

Oh? Did they say he would definitely go to World's? *_*

Well, obviously I know he is named to the team, but skaters often skip World's after an Olympics, so I wasn't sure he'd be there. Of course I'm Hoping he will be, especially since I will be there in Milan... but also kind of prepared for the disappointment if he isn't...

Without him, Japan might miss out on keeping that 3rd men's spot, so I'm sure he'll be there. Plus, he missed already one of the big competitions this season, that will probably make him want to go to Worlds more too.
(and I brought extra good seats for the men, so he better  )

I see a very little chance of him not competing in Milano. So I grabbed good seats for men and now waiting.

Hmm.. I dunno... Keiji's been doing pretty good lately... he and Uno could maybe manage to keep 3 spots on their own... ^_^;

Personally, I imagine a bigger incentive for Yuzuru, is the chance to become a three-time World Champion. I mean, two times is awesome of course... but three times is LEGEND! ;-D

Keiji has indeed been doing really well, and it's not out of the question Shoma and him could keep that spot... but I don't expect Mr. overly feeling responsible for everything and always wanting to do everything for his country to take any risk ;)

And yes, being 3-time WC is probably a thing too - especially given how Javi has 2 WC titles too, Patrick had 3. I'd love to tell him legend status really kicks in at 4, so off to 2019 WC too!

Honestly, with the season he's had (or lack thereof :( ) I expect him to want to go to Worlds even more, whether the Olympics go well for him or not. He'll be frustrated all to hell for the missing competitions he's had this season. Plus, defending Champion and all.

I fully expect Yuzu to go to Worlds (and am jealous and sad I won't be there this year, but the Olympics is eating a hole in my wallet). It seems pretty rare for Japanese skaters to skip Worlds after the Olympics, so I think chances are good he'll go to Worlds.

How's he getting along in practices, do we know? He missed so much of valuable experience during the season, I hope he can defend his gold. :(

Is it Yuzuru's R&J#1 Plushenko is showing to his students? My bad eye sight :drama:

I would think it'd be H&L since those jumps were immaculate. I think I see a little green in there.

My friend's translation:
"He has it in all the jumps"
*Translator notes: She's not sure what he means by “it”. It was mid phrase*
"That’s how it’s done"
"He pulls in right away"
"Tight position"
"Look how tight, boom and he pulls in"
"Try it again"
*Translator Notes: Girls slump shoulders, skate away. They know it’s easier said than done*
