Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

If they're up for next season, then I'd love to see them skate to Nina Simone's version of Feeling Good.

(Can we make a Twitter Petition for this? :P)

Haha if you've heard of Jackie Wong a.k.a Rockerskating on Twitter, he would go absolutely nuts if there were more Feeling Good programs  Although I love Nina Simone's version! :luv17:

I think the can pull off the raw emotion! It won't look cheesy on them (though Simone's version is far from cheesy anyway).

my lovely ones, awww i love them so much, even if they d come last i would still be proud!their second place is a huge success,i am not sad about that!the only thing that broke my heart into pieces was seeing sui crying,my sassy diva deserves always the best.I wish i could give her a gold medal as well.
Also this pair has managed to create emotions that only yulia lip was able to make me feel.I want so bad to send them a comment,my support but i dont know if there is any kind of site(non chinese)that i could apply to.
I just pray for their physical and mental health and i am sure that the best is yet to come.
Be proud and happy for your success my heroes!

The narration might be sensationalized, and not sure how accurate the English subtitles are.. but a few takeaway points:

- Sui had acute periostitis (this might be the minor injury that caused them to withdraw from 4CC?), and the pain was the worst in the mornings.

- Shen Xue said they opted out of the painkiller injection because it makes your leg numb below the knees, and Sui didn't have enough time to get used to skating without being able to feel her legs.

- Sui said they felt they had a decent skate, but the scores were very close. If they had lost by a larger margin, she wouldn't have felt so regretful. (Not sure if 'regretful' was the right word here.)

- Han's parents came to Pyeongchang to watch them skate! He didn't even know his parents made the trip from Harbin. His parents also brought them some homemade dumplings for Chinese New Year, but they can't eat it just yet because of drug test. (What exactly is in those dumplings?)

My God, I hope Sui can catch a break with those injuries. At least the pairs competition was first of the individual events, so they'll have some time to recover and prep for worlds.

In an interview, Sui said her leg hurt most in the morning. Guess when they had to skate, thanks to NBC... the morning...
perhaps this did contribute to her mistake on the sal...

Aww that's really nice about Han's parents! Although bit of a shame about the dumplings, I hope they'll still taste their best when he gets to eat them.

Poor Sui though! It's terrible to think of skaters being in bad pain when they skate :( I hope the worst is behind her.

Also, congratulations on their silver! Both their programs were amazing to watch and I did think they'd got the gold before the scores came up (although I hadn't seen S/M at that point)! Losing by such a small margin must be difficult.

Congratulations to Sui/Han on the silver! I know it's not what they were looking for but still, they gave it their all and I trust they will keep fighting for Beijing 2022. They have so much time - Aliona didn't just become Olympic champion overnight! Cheer up!

Them and Boyang!

It ripped my heart a little when I seen how sad they looked in kiss and cry... c'mon, cheer up, silver is a good result and it's not over yet for you!

I think that we can debate results, margin, all 'what ifs' regarding Wenjing and Cong, but their achievement cannot be disregarded or debatable. Looking at where they were last season and that this one was not injury-free, their ambition, drive and focus were amazing to witness in every performance. Silver a great result of their hard work, persistence, belief and pushing themselves constantly - it will only motivate them to work harder, be better and achieve more towards Beijing 2022 games.

I think that an unique, strong and deep bond formed between both of them for the past 4 years leading to this Olympics. They stuck for each other in thick and thin, battling a lot and being role models of champion's spirit; every time they had some issue, they bounced back stronger and stronger. Wenjing's strength and poise in competing and defeating all these injuries are inspirational. I cannot wait for what they will produce in upcoming seasons, enriched with this maturity and connection they have. I see them as a fabulous continuators of great Chinese tradition in Pairs' skating, but somehow carrying it beyond its meaning and symbolics - they introduced a new, modern and fresh quality with their skating and performance quality for me, making powerful statement each time stepping on ice, making the discipline exciting and alluring.

And today I caught up their SP with ESP commentary available on YT - just purity of emotion and subtlety of movement.

This. Like wenjing said, it felt disappointing at the moment because it was so close, but considering all they've been through for many years, even right up to the event with illness and reinjury, the way they performed was a big victory. They've already made an impact in pairs and will continue to do so.

talk about maturity - yes, it was a disappointment and sadness in a short distance looking at it, but I know they and their team will make it into long-term perspective, angled towards progress and development. This is just another step in experience being a champion in stance and spirit, not exactly measured by number of medals and titles, Aljona is the brightest example and Wenjing with Cong are following this amazing example of sportsmanship for me.
