If they're up for next season, then I'd love to see them skate to Nina Simone's version of Feeling Good.

The narration might be sensationalized, and not sure how accurate the English subtitles are.. but a few takeaway points:
- Sui had acute periostitis (this might be the minor injury that caused them to withdraw from 4CC?), and the pain was the worst in the mornings.
- Shen Xue said they opted out of the painkiller injection because it makes your leg numb below the knees, and Sui didn't have enough time to get used to skating without being able to feel her legs.
- Sui said they felt they had a decent skate, but the scores were very close. If they had lost by a larger margin, she wouldn't have felt so regretful. (Not sure if 'regretful' was the right word here.)
- Han's parents came to Pyeongchang to watch them skate! He didn't even know his parents made the trip from Harbin. His parents also brought them some homemade dumplings for Chinese New Year, but they can't eat it just yet because of drug test. (What exactly is in those dumplings?)

I hope the worst is behind her.Congratulations to Sui/Han on the silver! I know it's not what they were looking for but still, they gave it their all and I trust they will keep fighting for Beijing 2022. They have so much time - Aliona didn't just become Olympic champion overnight! Cheer up!
I think that we can debate results, margin, all 'what ifs' regarding Wenjing and Cong, but their achievement cannot be disregarded or debatable. Looking at where they were last season and that this one was not injury-free, their ambition, drive and focus were amazing to witness in every performance. Silver a great result of their hard work, persistence, belief and pushing themselves constantly - it will only motivate them to work harder, be better and achieve more towards Beijing 2022 games.
I think that an unique, strong and deep bond formed between both of them for the past 4 years leading to this Olympics. They stuck for each other in thick and thin, battling a lot and being role models of champion's spirit; every time they had some issue, they bounced back stronger and stronger. Wenjing's strength and poise in competing and defeating all these injuries are inspirational. I cannot wait for what they will produce in upcoming seasons, enriched with this maturity and connection they have. I see them as a fabulous continuators of great Chinese tradition in Pairs' skating, but somehow carrying it beyond its meaning and symbolics - they introduced a new, modern and fresh quality with their skating and performance quality for me, making powerful statement each time stepping on ice, making the discipline exciting and alluring.
And today I caught up their SP with ESP commentary available on YT - just purity of emotion and subtlety of movement.
This. Like wenjing said, it felt disappointing at the moment because it was so close, but considering all they've been through for many years, even right up to the event with illness and reinjury, the way they performed was a big victory. They've already made an impact in pairs and will continue to do so.
