Alina Zagitova

What a fun skate that was and she is both very beautiful and very athletic. Can you imagine how great she will be at 18?

I am sure it was already posted by someone - but I really like this photos :)
(just shows all zagitova="cinderella" theory adepts the truth - what a great friends they are)

Can you imagine being only 15 and not have your mother travel with you to the olympics?
Actually her mother is there, in Korea too - as well as Zhenya's mother ;)

Which girl is her little sister? There are so many! LOL!

Can you imagine being only 15 and not have your mother travel with you to the olympics? Alina has a toughness most people never could have.

Her mother is at the Olympics.

poor Alina :(. She really needs a shoulder to cry on, a person to trust completly :(.

I liked these dogs immediately. I really wanted that I too had such a loyal friend.
I live in Moscow with a cat, two chinchillas. I talk to them, tell everything, even what I can not share with my parents. I know that my little animals will never betray me. I I understand that they understand me. You can walk with it do not be afraid of anything, it will protect me.

From the interview ....

interesting and little sad at this same time; she is under extreme pressure right now.

I saw a video of Zagitova doing 3Lz+3T+3Lo in practice that looked easy... and it would be awesome if she did that at worlds along side two +2Lo combinations. It would truly be the absolute "most difficult program" you can do without a 3A or quad while doing a hard element that gets no credit for it's difficulty.

Here's a video(from a different angle than what I saw IIRC) of that combo: https://www.instagram.com/p/BfkqadmnkPh/

She did it too at the exhibition for Russian nationals but stepped out of the loop(just saw it but don't have the link handy).

Hi everyone! I have been absolutely impressed with Alina since the European Championships. She is a very beautiful, elegant girl - and really, the way she looks and acts makes me think that she is a genuinely honest and good person, I like her, she has this positive sparkle. And of course, perfect technique and excellent choice of music - if one has danced ballet and is able to perform graciously, what better choice than Swan Lake and Don Quixote - the first one very dramatic and intense, the second one dynamic, explosive and interesting to watch.

The backloading trick actually fits perfectly here, the beginning of the FP is more lyrical, romantic - good possibility to do step sequence and pirouettes. And then comes the explosive culmination - series of jumps, showing off athleticism and energy. That's actually what is done in the original ballet Don Quixote when this music plays. So the program is actually great and when it ends, I personally have a good feeling. And what I LOVE about Alina's free program is how she gave up the 3Loop and then fought for it and added it later so that it fitted even better to the music phrase! She was thinking! during the performance, something that really shows who deserves to be a champion.

I am sad that she seems to be lonely and especially now, when the majority support Evgenia who is more popular in the figure skating world. Even at the exhibition it seemed to me that Alina doesn't have friends among the other figure skaters yet. This is understandable because it's her first season among the seniors... But at the very end of the gala I felt like Evgenia was trying to steal the attention of the audience and of some skaters (*cough* Yuzuru), doing triple jumps while Alina was posing for pictures with the other champions. But I hope that they will keep the friendship off the ice and use the rivalry on the ice as a motivation to push each other and get better and better.

For now I really hope to see them both in Milan next month, I am going to the Ladies' Free and I am super excited! I wonder if it's possible to meet some of the skaters personally and ask for autographs... At least from Alina would be nice. (:

It's not quite right and shortened/simplified version of translation and it doesn't convey nuances. It was said by her with sarcasm implying journalists are fools for even asking such obvious questions (question was: was she happy or sad after receiving the medal)

That makes me like her even more. I've always wondered what journalists really expect OGMs to say when they're asked if they're happy.

I just rewatched Evgenia's FS final moments (after scores was announced). What I am really pissed off at - is how other skaters in "green room" (Miyahara, Osmond) treats Alina - completely cold and indifferent. Just compare it with Bruno/Massot treatment - their rivals at least congratulate them or even hugs them - as far as I remember. And that disgusting scene later when some canadian girl roughly bumped into Alina rushing to congratulate Osmond .. uff. It looked absolutely deliberate to me. So much hate and envy to our girl >_<

I felt the same way watching videos of the Gala! I understand Evgenia and Yuzuru are friends, but just compare the way she behaved versus how Yuzuru treated Shoma when Shoma was new on the circuit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLp2V0gDNyw

Shoma was clearly awkwardly standing off to the side not knowing anyone, and Yuzuru went out of his way to make him feel included. I wish Evgenia had done the same for Alina, who is just as new.

Yeees, Yuzuru is usually very supportive and also other skaters like Javi, that's why I am wondering why does Alina not get a friendly push from somebody - I saw her talking to Tessa for a while but still you can see here that she is kinda like Shoma - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH98yW01pUk
I would be happy to see all those funny and cute interactions between figure skaters at ice shows to include Alina <3 Hopefully at Worlds it will be more comfortable for her.
