Gabriella Papadakis & Guillaume Cizeron

It's seems to me that the numbers of canadians being here in PyeongChang were way more important than french or italian preople. For french people, having the money to go to the olympic in korea was not accessible for everybody. The delegation of the french olympian team in term of numbers is nothing to the canadians or usa team. And you know how the support in term of numbers and the crowd in the ice rink was dominated by the canadian and may be part of the korean who knew Tessa and scott from tour after sotchi. Ice skating is not a popular sport in Korea, and I doubt that a lot of korean know about a lot of european skaters.

Yuna Kim likes V/M = everyone likes V/M in Korea

I d love them to be at Skate America next season.
And GPF is in Vancouver. It will be hilarious

I don't think it can happen, because 1-2-3 at Worlds cannot meet during the GPs and I'm expecting Maddie & Zach on the podium. I won't be surprised if they get China or Japan again.
Or Skate Canada, since I don't see a Canadian team on the podium. It'll be nice not to have to travel too much, unlike this season.

Yeah I know, but one can dream ;)

But they get events choosed by isu, or they chose themselves from those they are able to go. Or first they have to be invited ?

The top skaters at worlds are seeded - meaning they get to participate in 2 Grand Prix events.
The host federation (of the GP event) and the ISU usually decide this together (with input from the skater's federation).
Should they be assigned a GP - TdF is a given.
Canada - likes it when a Canadian win, so they probably won't get it. I would guess china, japan or russia.

Thanks .
I think they will get Japan, not Russia, coz I bet they wanna make S/B russian no 1 and help them getting to GPF

My thoughts exactly ! I was think Russia and said... nope. Because of this. Plus they might be a fraction of a chance for them to end up 3rd at Worlds.

But the schedule : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018–19_ISU_Grand_Prix_of_Figure_Skating

France (last GP) is right after Russia . 2 weeks between China and France, 3 with Japan. They might want to do it altogether and have 2 weeks betweend GPs and GPF = China. Or 3, going for Japan. I hope they'll do one senior B just like this year. Nebelhorn, Finlandia perhaps, to get international feedback. Or even better, Autumn Classic, it's earlier feedback.

But there are Worlds, we're not there yet !

PS : Wow a 300-page thread ! :yahoo:

Worlds are like Parisian walkways for them...

I understand maybe there is an exchange Gabby and Guillaume in Japan, Hanyu in France ....

Yep that's what I got too which is fine by me. They need to get more visible in Asian countries especially Japan. They also never won NHK but won CoC twice.
Alain good to hear from you. Any fresh news from our dear Gaby and Guillaume ? I take you were at the taping of Dancing on Ice. Must have been great to see T/D and P/C together. Tell us a bit more when you feel like it. P/C looked like they were rejuvenated by this whole experience. I guess they just needed a bit of pampering after their bittersweet Olympic experience.

Sure it was more than great for G&G to meet T/D. Both couples get along very well especially as they have a lot in common.
Gaby and Guillaume flew back to Montréal on Monday 5th to restart training on Tuesday 6th in Gadbois. Romain being this week at the Junior Worlds in Sofia, Bulgaria, they were coached from Tuesday to Friday by MF Dubreuil...
In any case, Romain came back straight to Montréal after Junior World FD to take over MF Dubreuil until they fly to Milan.

to Alain
Do you know if the met mark hanretty ? the comments from the british on besp are so enjoyable for us I would like to know if they spoke with him ?
And on the video on the DOI is so much fun to watch and rewatch again It is funny to try to catch where they almost stay in place for some movements in order to stay on the ice rink Do you know how much time they have to work for it ?

It's a pleasure to hear from you again Alain, as usual, thank you for this ! :thank:

12 days until we see them in Milan, I cannot wait, I'm guessing you might be going ;) Anybody else on this thread is going perhaps ? I would have loved to go but it's not compatible with work...
Plus I'm sure many friends and family members will be there along with the fans. And the French fans since it's so close to France ! :hap10:

They didn't meet Mark Hanretty as he was not in the studio.
It took 1h/1h30 for Gaby & Guillaume to adapt the SD to the DOI studio rink with Chris.
