Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

I found this clip accidentally and it was hilarious :laugh2:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOFHiEAK9xg

This seems to be the small talk show (well, I had not seen this before since this program is aired on only pay channel), and these guys are comedians including PIKOTARO and Ueda, the host of sport news program (the guy interviewed Yuzuru here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPHYj-6SBPg). Ueda talked about how he was stunned by watching Yuzuru's SP in the venue, and how Yuzuru was humble and polite at TV studio. PIKOTARO liked Yuzuru's comment "Tadaima (I'm home)", "I know the Olympics" after SP, and he jokingly said someone must have written the script for Yuzuru because he was too perfect for a Japanese :rofl:Then they started talking like they wanted to invite Yuzuru to their show but realized it would not happen (they think they are too low for Yuzuru). They know Yuzuru does not appear on TV show often and they think it is good because being mysterious works well for him, even though they really want to see him

The young guy is also a comedian? he is cute, how old?

A guy in the left on the screen? This is the first time I saw him and I don't know who he is, but I think he is a comedian, too. The interesting thing is, he said he watched Yuzuru in person in Sochi Olympics and was proud "I won the gold medal with Hanyu in Sochi Olympics":laugh2: (no you did not lol !) And he also said he went to Rio Olympics, so he may be a big fan of all the sports in general (or he may be a reporter of TV station )

No way!:rofl::rofl: Thanks for sharing!

I hope Brian's gotten used to the idea of Yuzu doing the 4A. He looks like he has.
Doesn't change the fact that he'll probably lose the rest of his hair over the next seasons

I would freak out, if Yuzu did a 4A debut similar to this :love::love:

Sashida Fumiya sends his congratulations to Yuzu (he created the song 'Hana ni Nare') that Yuzu skated to as an EX and they became friends afterwards.

"The way he exceeds the expectations of Japan is so like him. Congratulations! There must have been pressure but seeing him enjoy the Olympic stage made me happier than anything. To be able to enjoy the competition shows the most strength. I can't wait to say it in person, but Congratulations Yuzuru!"

Ok, thank you, he looks cute

This is awesome! 😁 And this isn’t even the whole clip. Someone added the lightsaber and the Jedi powers, the “force”, to the whole back half of his Seimei performance and it was amazing to see how perfectly his arm movements synced with what it’d looked like if he was actually in a sword battle.

Love all the comparisons with Uchimura who is another Japanese sports legend. He also defended his first OGM by winning again in 2016.

That competition was quite the nail-biter though!

That's funny, just the other day I was wondering about this friendship!, Thanks for the translation, I also hope they can meet soon.

Nathan talked about Yuzuru and Javier a little.

“Honestly, I was a little disappointed that Yuzu pulled [out of worlds],” Chen said (Hanyu cited a right ankle injury that kept him out of competition from November until the Olympics). “Obviously, he needs to get healthy. I don’t know what his future entails, but I wanted to have him there. It really ups the ante of the competition. Everyone definitely feels his presence and Javi’s presence.”

Nathan said almost the same after NHK (GPF?) last year, so I think he really meant it here, too.
