Wakaba Higuchi

I know many disregard TSL in general, but it was just speculated that Wakaba could go to Orser. Because nothing's confirmed, I think it'd be interesting just to consider the scenario! I think it might be good for her, but who knows. I know Wakaba has gone to Canada before for coaching.

I think Brian would love to perfect Wakaba's 3A. I disagree with Jonathan about David Wilson being a perfect fit. Jeffrey Buttle in addition to Scali and Bourne?

This is the Prince Ice World promotional event. Waka says she can't rotate fast enough and ends up double-footing the 3A. Midori says to move your body like a pendulum. Kanako blurts out that this advice is easy to understand

Thanks for the translation and for posting the video, wakahfans did not put the whole video.

It's amazing that she can not do the complete 3A rounds, once I saw her 2A and I thought it was a triple so much that it was big , Good luck to her for the landing soon I'm sure she'll work hard. Kanako will always make me laugh XD

Can we all appreciate how easy and effortless and huge Wakaba's 3-3 combos are... WHILE having so much emotion in a single program. She is incredible.

I'm also hoping those Brian Orser rumours are true... that would be the ultimate confidence boost. (+more fair PCS?)

That lutz-toe...

Let's just say if the Orser rumours are true, then history might repeat.

(Free leg is kinda lose in one of the lutzes, at least initially :P But it can be fixed! By you know who! And she can become! The next you know what!)

There is no video on his EX at Star On ice but reports from WakaHFans on twitter <3
She skated on Hallelujah and Byakuyako.

Thanks to her for giving reports I'd like to see the videos soon T_T

Wakaba will change programs next year

goodbye Skyfall and Gypsy dance, although I suspected it because she said she wants unique and original programs, I hope we can see them again during the Star on ice tour, Prince Ice World and Fantasy on ice.

No David Wilson please.

Do you think he is capable of selecting appropriate music for a program that is not a Yuna retread and customized for our dynamic Wakababy?

Sorry. Are you agreeing with me? If so, apologies for the above.

I also find them a tad telegraphed (just the lutz combo, not her other jumps), but the quality of the combo itself makes up for it. I have a feeling that under Orser he could probably help with that even more. Again, if the rumors are true anyway :pray:.

Telegraphed lutz-toes are pretty cool if they have enough pay-off.

What do you mean by telegraphed? And yeah I can totally see that being improved :) Did she also skate in the Legends ice show?

Telegraphed might be wrong, actually. Just mean skating backwards to music building up, and then having a huge lutz-toe at the right music cue. Prefer that to unnecessary transitions before the combo.

I personally use it when I'm referring to jumps that I can see coming a little while before they are done. Basically a lengthy set up before execution. For some skaters I feel like axels (though not Waka's) and lutzes tend to stick out to me more compared to other jumps.

OOH I see. I actually like the suspense that that gives to 3Lz-3 combos :D Especially if it's executed perfectly and to the music.
