What are you listening to right now?

Love this song! This is the one of the songs present on soundtrack of Virgin Suicides directed by Sofia Coppola. For the record, the French guy singing Thomas Mars met her when doing the soundtrack, they are now married. He is the lead singer of French band Phoenix:

I've been listening to some songs from Eurovision this year and previous years. I started listening to them after I saw a video from a YouTuber I'm subscribed to (Weird Norwegian) and oh my gosh, they're awesome. Some songs I think would be great for figure skating. Like "Fairytale" by Alexander Rybak. That song, I can SO see Jason Brown skate to it. Another one is "Our Choice" by Ari Olafsson. It's simple, but it would be so beautiful for skating in my opinion. I can picture most likely a lady skater skating to it cause there's one part where I can see a spiral happening. Another song is "Nova Deca," which is Serbia's choice for this year's Eurovision. Omg, it would be so great for skating.

I make a point of not listening to any of the songs until I see them on the Semi-Finals. So that it doesn't spoil the surprise.

But, here are just a few past songs I would recommend:

Kalomira - "Secret Combination" (Greece 2008)
Aysel and Arash - "Always" (Azerbaijan 2009)
Safura - "Drip Drop" (Azerbaijan 2010)
Paula Seling & Ovi - "Playing With Fire" (Romania 2010)
Il Volo - "Grande Amore" (Italy 2015)
Polina Gagarina - "A Million Voices" (Russia 2015)

Still kicking myself that Polina Gagarina was doing a concert in Limassol last September... a few days after I went home! :bang:

Just listened to one of my favourite Eurovision songs from recent years, which I somehow missed when making out my list of recommendations last week:

Conchita Wurst - "Rise Like A Phoenix" (Austria 2014)

And earlier on, I listened to a song from long before Eurovision came along. Way back in the 1930's, in fact:

Carlos Gardel - "Por Una Cabeza"

Of course, I wasn't watching the videos that I just linked to. No, I was listening to these songs on videos that are more timely for today! ;) :biggrin:

This is my second favorite song from H.E.R. self-titled album after '2', the whole live version adds to that warm blanket, dreamy vibe I feel listening to it:love:
