Part of this discrepancy is the fact that Satoko regularly gets lvl4 on her step sequences, while Wakaba usually gets lvl3. The GOE is quantified differently for lvl3 and lvl4.

I think that at this point Satoko does deserve higher GOEs, her steps look effortless but are actually extremely difficult. She is one of very few skaters whose steps coil in the opposite direction that she jumps in. I love Wakaba's steps because of her passion, timing and that twizzle :), but she still struggles executing all features cleanly enough to get lvl4, I hope that is something her team will address soon, as she loses costly points
What aspects does she struggle at exactly? It's an honest question because 2 the average fan her step sequence seams better than many who get level 4. She got level 4 at GPF where her performance wasn't as good as at Worlds where she got level 3. Just asking.

When I read the explanations about scoring many times I can certainly see why many people don't even consider skating a sport. The points system is just a way to cover the fact that it's all just opinion disguised as somehow fact because of a dubious set of numbers from a bunch of people with not the best reputation 4 honesty and ridiculously obvious national bias. Even which elements are considered and how heavily they are weighted can change everything. The nature of the sport will always be subjective. No matter how many numbers judges throw out there, they can't change what my eyes see. Whenever u have multiple top skaters skating clean or close 2 it, it will come down 2 who likes chocolate and who likes vanilla.

Wakaba may not be supple back but I really like her hands moving with the music when she does her layback spin, as I said on the other thread he does not lack a lot of things to improve she can be a great artist if her team manages her properly ...

For the notes of Satoko I think she deserves her notes because she has a beautiful port of arms and movements that corresponds to the music, not to mention that it has pirouettes that go both ways. For her jumps she is aware of her weakness and works hard not to make URs, she has some jumps that are good, but since I do not pay too much attention to the TES and PCS I will stop there.

Oh it's Sara Honda she is already very talented for her age as her sisters, I can not wait to see her grow, I understand better why Marin said it was his biggest rival XD. Is Miyu going to be a junior or focusing on her acting career? .

It doesn't seem like skating is her priority.

Okay thanks for the information it's true that I saw her more in commercials / movies and shows than on the ice, she was 15th at the champion this year right?

I don't remember, but her tech content was not a top junior tech content.

same as Wakaba. I personally think her best performance of the season was COC. but she didn't get scores as high as worlds. I still think if Wakaba won COC, it would changed everything.

I hope that Sara will really concentrate on skating. She seems to have a good technical potential.

Am i the only one who finds this version better than competitive one? https://youtu.be/saYhhN1iAO4
Sure, the cut is weird but so unconventional, even the dress. She should stop to keep the best dresses for EXs.

I must admit that I prefer the competitive version maybe because I am abituer, that said this version is good too and I like the fact that it tries different style while keeping the same music.

In general she has better outfits for her EX than her competitive outfits lol
the black outfit she designed herself is my favorite.

She was 20th at Junior Nats.

https://www.jsfresults.com/National/2017-2018/fs_e/national_jr/index.htm

I saw her at Western Sectional. Her artistry was quite impressive (her SP was Stairway to Heaven), but she didn't have jumps.

i thought when you said she didn't have jumps you mean she didn't have triples. If she wants to be on top she need to work on UR, and 3-3 which i think do-able. she's still young isn't she?

also is there any video on Riko Takino and Kinayu Yokoi 3A attempt in junior nats? both fall but listed as rotated, i want to see if its really rotated

Off Season...what’s that? This is the 4 years of revenge tour!!

Not sure if it’s been reported here or not but it looks like Wakababy is working out Choreography in Italy with Benoit Richaud. I’ve seen a few photos of her and Serafima Sakhanovich pop up like this.

I think he’ll be able to create something very nice for her if in fact she is getting a program or two with him. I’ve liked a lot of the programs he’s done in the past and the skaters he works with absolutley love working with him and he seems excited to work with her :yes2:

Interesting. So I guess she’s not going to Orser.

No, unfortunately it would have been a good opportunity for her but it is logical that she does not want to leave her current coeach and her family.

I hope that Benoit Richaud will make beautiful programs that will be as original as his Skyfall and Gypsy Dance. She was also there for the spring camp I guess she will practice her 3A at Orser around June / August?

Since it is officially the prepation of the next season we have news of others?

I know they are busy with upcoming shows but I can not wait to see what they have planned for next year.

Why would working with Richaud mean Waka won't go to TCC or leave her coach? Tbh I see zero relation. And do we even know for sure Richaud is doing a competitive program and not potentially an EX? I know it looks more likely all things considered, but as far as I know we have no confirmation.
