Alina Zagitova

Don't worry, Alina does not share a bed with her grandmother, if you look at the room, you can see Alina's sofa on the right and on the left, in the near corner, grandmother's bed with a pink blanket

I know it's a long shot, but is anyone here going to the show in SK? Let us know how it is so we can live vicariously through you!

It will be televised in Korea, here are the details: Apr. 21 at 15:00 KST (that’s Korean Standard Time) on KBS2 (live).

Streams are available on their own official website under VOD, you just need to get on the KBS site, select VOD, then KBS2, it’s working great now but I’ll need to recheck on the day of (couldn’t find any that work on mobile but since it’s going to be on at 2am here it’s not that important).

Misha Ge is choreographing and performing on this show, excited to see this even more after I got this info.

Alina just did a live video chat on her instagram feed. Pretty cool. She was on the plane to Korea for her next Ice Show.

Maybe after she lands it will show up on her Instagram Stories, she had to turn off her phone before it could upload there.

Over 2000 watching her live and on that chat, awesome.

Ahhhh, I woke up to this, totally missed it. Hope she posts it. Were there any interesting nuggets of info?

When the time is right Alina will have a bigger home with her own bed with a top mattress to help her tired body better recover from trainings and competitions. But for now her situation is working out well.

I don't speak Russian so can't really say how it flowed. But she did show her bracelet (maybe someone asked about it), said thank you, said hi and said Masaru so maybe someone asked about the dog too.

I was happy to see her back doing live chats, she seemed to enjoy doing those in the past and it is nice to see her doing things she likes.

So nice to see her smiling!

Interesting. Im fine with that I hope Madison is too.

 I don't know.... I personally don't like the hockey player and never followed hockey:scratch2:, but it's obvious that she likes him so what can I do?:laugh:

I also saw that Pitkeev wrote on that chat.

And is the area near Sambo a good one? Is it central in Moscow?

The situation in Moscow is pretty much similar to NYC which has been shared by lusk8 above, rent and prices are much higher than in the rest of the country, and a closet in Moscow will set you back as much as a house or even several apartments in some other small city. So Alina's apartment is quite fine economy choice for 2 people lodging in the anthill like Moscow without overpaying.
Anyway considering her earnings for the past year she can already afford to buy a place herself, so I don't think pity is a right feeling for her as she is already a millionaire (in RUB equivalent at least):). She earned around $200k as prize money for this season plus a car from government, not to count money from shows and endorsements. And $200k is enough to buy small apartment closer to the centre or bigger one but farther (I wonder if the prices are comparable to Toronto?).
I don't see why government should provide her with apartment as it has already provided Olympic prize money worth of 4 mln RUB and the car. As far as I know Lipnitskaya was more of a exception than a rule in this regard, and the second apartment she got had been presented to her by a private company, no other Olympic medalists have been provided with apartments from government.

Cost of living and rent in larger cities in Russia like St. Petersberg and Moscow are insanely high compared to other areas of the country. The NYC analogy is pretty spot on, its pretty much like living in a Manhattan broom closet. There are some places that are cheaper on the outskirts of the city, but you might not want to live there as it can be a long commute and pretty run down neighborhoods and buildings.
As for prize money and income from skating shows, just note that most Russian athletes do share their money with coaches and the Russian Federation. I have no clue how much that is, but I'm imagining it can be a significant amount.

As I know, they share of money with coaches only from commercial show , 20-30% .. not from OG, WC , EC
Eteri got a good money from Moscow major as well ( 2 000 000 rubles /appr. 33 000 USD)

Are the top coaches considered rich / well paid in Russia?
