Marin Honda

Marin posted a pic with Elvis Stojko in her Instastory today. She could be in RTC getting choreo from Lori Nichol.
Raf probably won't be eager to send her to Marina after that Nathan incident.

When Raf sent Nathan to Marina just to get choreo for Le Corsaire, Nathan ended up staying in Michigan with her for at least several months. Raf thought Nathan was leaving him, made some not super nice accusations at Marina for like sweet talking Nathan and ‘offering babysitting services’ to get him to stay/have Marina as his coach and ended up in disagreement at TDF 2016 when supposedly Marina had Raf’s name taken off as coach. Later Nathan obviously went back to Raf but there was some drama at the time

Ooh :o I wonder if that choreographer can make bby Marin good programs. Im quite excited 💕
some of my favorite programs were made by Lori, so I am hopeful that Marin is working with her and that they find the magic every choreo/skater is looking for.
Marin will be in Prince Ice World in April 28-30 and May 19-20 where she might debut her new programs.

I read Lori, Marin, Prince and for a brief moment I thought Marin was working with Lori on a Prince program. [emoji23]

Any suggested programs choreographed by him please? OuO

Do you mean Lori Nichol? She's a very famous choreographer; she made programs for Michelle Kwan, Fumie Suguri, Mao Asada, Mirai Nagasu, Sui & Han, Satoko Miyahara and many others.

Just a couple of her well-known programs:

Michelle Kwan - Rachmaninoff ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Gjub2tjIGA )
Mao Asada - Nocturne ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmyUwtmch9w ), Elegie ( https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x611w92 )
Carolina Kostner - Bolero ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qbyZAEjFlU0 )
Sui & Han - Spanish Romance ( https://youtu.be/Mx75rRpKi24?t=31 )
Satoko Miyahara - Sayuri ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2NdUDKoaoM )

Could go on & on :)

😂 I would have been floored at this combination

This is an excellent compilation, thanks

A friend of mine in Twi posted this!

She seems to have friends there already💕
So it's confirmed that she was in RTC last week, got her choreo there, and began her training in Lakewood with Raf this week.
I hope she's able to cope with the cultural differences and homesickness. Good thing Taichi is there with her and their fellow training mates are welcoming.

I tend to dislike Lori's choreography for the Chinese skaters (Sui and Han being the exception) because it usually feels like the programs aren't good fits for the skaters themselves. However, I do think that she's very capable of choreographing fabulous programs, but it's dependent on whether or not the skater is someone who meshes well with her choreography. Marin's light and airy style mixed with her natural charisma makes her a good fit for one of Lori's programs.

Don't remind me. :palmf: But yeah, I think Lori might be better than Wilson for her.

Really going to be excited to see how Marin adapts to ... life in proximity to so much in LA/Hollywood... which ironically will probably less of a pressure cooker, immediate attention than she had in Japan!

I would say Lakewood is very non LA/Hollywood - and not super nearby (especially considering brutal traffic)

I think she would mostly stay under the radar ?

Disney should take the opportunity to make a movie with her right now, before she gets too big. I think Marin is a real Disney girl! (I'm half joking, half serious)
