The first skater I really liked was Katarina Witt, and I liked Sasha Cohen too, but I didn't pay much attention to the sport until I saw Zhenya's SP in the team event during the Olympics. I ran to the Internet and watched tons of her skating videos (my favorite is the 2016 SP in the blue dress, where she portrays a little girl growing into maturity), and I cried with her at the end of the Anna Karenina FS on the final day.

Yes indeed! I jumped on the bandwagon at the wrong time, but I will hang in there with the rest of the fandom. She will be jumping again soon, and we'll get snatches of the new programs, and we'll just feed on little snippets of news like that until the competitions begin again.

Is this the time of year that figure skaters would change coaches? I'm assuming that changes usually happen before new routines and choreography are practiced. How does the process of changing coaches work in Russia?
