Hi Guys!
This is my first post here. I'm new to being a figure skating fan, although I've watched ladies single figure skating at the Olympics since I was kid (and I'm old now). The first skater I really liked was Katarina Witt, and I liked Sasha Cohen too, but I didn't pay much attention to the sport until I saw Zhenya's SP in the team event during the Olympics. I was stunned. I ran to the Internet and watched tons of her skating videos (my favorite is the 2016 SP in the blue dress, where she portrays a little girl growing into maturity), and I cried with her at the end of the Anna Karenina FS on the final day.
I watched the Ice and Fame documentary, I started following her on Instagram and Twitter (I followed her just in time to see the Instagram live show when she was folding her clothes, including her costumes, and showed us her medals and the view from her hotel room), joined the figure skating sub-another site and learned more about her there, and then finally, I read this thread over the past week or so from about the beginning of February up until now (Whew! You guys are active!), and I wanted to be a part of this, so I joined.
I am hooked on figure skating now, and I have also branched out a bit and found some other skaters whom I also like (but won't mention them here since this is Zhenya's thread), and I'm looking forward to learning more about the sport here (on this forum) and hearing and talking about Zhenya (here in this thread). It's nice to find a place where you can praise her without a bunch of people attacking her, like on YouTube.
