No you are not imagining this, on that 55 minute Instagram chat that Alina did over a year ago (it's on YouTube), near the end she goes home and shows her pets and the two kind translators translating in the comments said that she said one of the Chinchillas is named Marshmallow (Zefir, I think is the Russian word). They also said Iriska means taffy or toffee and that all her pets have food names. Masaru will be the exception now, moving on from food to victory.

I think Alina is fine, she posted a lot to her stories today and seemed to be in a great mood. She was treasured at the Inauguration event and even posted that funny "taking shoes off to go on palace" picture to her stories. To me that signals that she is well and focused on her life, which is what she should be doing. I'm sure she also wishes Zhenya the best in her future.

I hope she's in good spirits. From the small slice of her life we see, she seems to be doing just fine. I would imagine she and Evgenia have already spoken/texted about this.

Alina might be the person least confused by all of this. She was there for everything that lead up to it and on tour with Zhenya in Japan and Korea. I think Alina is very wisely keeping her own counsel on this and distancing herself from any controversy (as much as possible). This is the time when not showing her emotions as much as she might is going to serve her very well.

I'm sure she will miss Zhenya. How could she not? But she will be fine and this is going to work out to her advantage on a day-to-day basis for at least one entire season. Possibly even beyond that.

I'm also sure she knows exactly which side her bread is buttered on and her father has probably given her lots of advice on 'team politics' and 'sports politics'. He didn't spend his life in Russian sports as a player and now coach for nothing.
