She does. She's been on the national team the past decade. The last few seasons have been a struggle since she hasn't made it to Euros or Worlds, but that's hardly to be expected in a field as stacked as Russia and at her age.
Also worth noting Leonova got a personal best in the free skate last season at NHK, landing 6 triples, including a 3-3... and at the age of 27.
Excited for Medvedeva! I don't really follow Russian fed politics but it seems like that played a considerable role in this decision. I think she will improve artistically under Orser with less cookie cutter choreo, but I'm not sure how she can improve technically (other than maybe improving her lutz edge).
