Evgenia must have a lot of 'insider' info about Eteri's camp. Perhaps Eteri is afraid that her secrets are getting out now? :roll9: The intrigue continues.

Next season: consistent You Young with rippons added to backloaded tripples )

But you invented this by yourself, didn't you? I don't see such comments even at sports.ru for example. Just trying to spread hate?

I'm just confused as to why so many people seem to be taking it so personally that Evgenia is moving on to a new coach.

She's had the same coach for 11 years. If that's not loyalty then what is? We shouldn't get mad when athletes want to make positive changes.

Would have been quiet stupid of her to spill the tea right now. She has a career to build, she needs to be in good relationship with Eteri and RusFed, good enough to say Hi! at the competitions and get Hi! in reply. I'm pretty sure she can manage it.

Yeah I can see her thinking that - still Zhenya was the one who took the situation with class while Eteri behaved like a 5 year old and shared private conversations with the russian media just to drag Zhenya in the mud
Am I the only one who thinks that it's really not very classy to just essentially run away without having a direct conversation with the coach about leaving them? Sure, the statement itself was classy, but... Well, that's one thing. Actions are another.

Which Russian skaters(ladies) have?

How far back do you need to go?

This is my point with "How far back do you need to go?". The landscape is different.

Does Leonova have longevity? Well... I guess she gets invited to GPs... not what I had in mind, though.

She does. She's been on the national team the past decade. The last few seasons have been a struggle since she hasn't made it to Euros or Worlds, but that's hardly to be expected in a field as stacked as Russia and at her age.

Also worth noting Leonova got a personal best in the free skate last season at NHK, landing 6 triples, including a 3-3 (she beat all 3 Japanese skaters in the FS, and almost beat all 3 of them overall - in Japan)... and at the age of 27.

Excited for Medvedeva! I don't really follow Russian fed politics but it seems like that played a considerable role in this decision. I think she will improve artistically under Orser with less cookie cutter choreo, but I'm not sure how she can improve technically (other than maybe improving her lutz edge).

But we know Eteri lies about learning it from the media - her daughter and team had been deleting Zhenya things for weeks and Sambo director knew - so she may very well be lying about Zhenya not telling her anything about it. We may never know the truth

It's not ideal, but when you are a public figure with a professional relationship, you don't really get the opportunity to break it off in a personal way. Maybe she did plan to, but the rumors were already out there. Evgenia made the decision while she was abroad so she didn't have the opportunity to speak with Eteri personally before the rumors came out.

Ever thought she wants to fix her technique?

Shocking I know, but give it a go. It won't hurt. Much.

Oh please that was not a bashing post. It was a serious question. No need to act like that.

If she still want to win consistently next season, and if Orser want too, without a transition period, keeping her jumps like that would not be a so bad decision.

And did Yuzu himself ever say anything to support those words from Misha and Zhenya? If some skaters are trying to get closer to those who are popular and nice it does not make them friends. ;)

...and that's exactly why Misha said he holds back on sharing content regarding his friendship with Yuzuru, and Zhenya deleted her most recent pics with him. Because people go crazy and accuse them of lying, taking advantage from Yuzuru, or think they have a duty to report on Yuzuru, etc.

:agree: on Leonova. When just making it out of Russia is already so hard, I would definitely call still getting GPs 7 years after winning her world medal and still setting new PBs longevity.

If Evgenia's lutz edge is fixed, she can do two or three lutzes instead of one. And she has -3Lo combos in practice, which she could realistically add to improve technically. That will boost her BV enough to match Alina.

She has said that she is a non confrontational person. I am one too. When I was younger I would often avoid situations where conflict might occur. She had to know that there would be some push back if she decided she wanted to leave Eteri so maybe she just decided to avoid it. I get it. In the future, from this experience, she will learn that it is usually better not to avoid painful conversations that need to happen.

She is only 18 (I have also heard many people say that elite skaters are often behind average people in their emotional development). I know I didn't always handle people well at that age and considering her history with Eteri it would have been a very difficult conversation to have even if it simply "I need a change, I need to grow up" kind of thing.

I don't think she'd do that sort of a thing simply because of how much she favored Medvedeva. I just don't see that. Especially considering the statements she's made on the departures of some other skaters who she wasn't nearly as fond of.

Of course, we'll never know what actually happened(unless it evolves past she said she said), I just assess things based on my psychological readings on people.

So that would make historical 82-83 PCS, more than maximum allowed, but no one would notice, since everyone got used to nonsense PCS!

Yeah I kind of give up on PCS to be honest after last 4 seasons... just looking for big ironic laughs now days, luckily, i am rarely dissapointed

Then how do you explain her team&daughter deleting Evgenia content exactly when the rumors started? How could Eteri not know if the Russian forums, her VK staff and her own daughter did?

It's not about "knowing", it's about telling them directly. Releasing rumors about it isn't the same thing, or even telling her daughter about it isn't the same thing. I hope you understand what I'm saying.

I don't think it's right that a coach would learn about this sort of a thing on circulating rumors, whenever that may be. At least to me it'd be important to be the first to know and not just happen to learn via other routes. Perhaps we have different feelings about this...

Eteri said that she knew about the rumors. Probably Evgenia negotiated with the RusFed and even Sambo 70 behind Eteri's back and of course Eteri learned about this. It's a small world after all.
What I understood is that Eteri would have expected Evgenia to reply to her messages and to speak about her wish to leave.
