Zhenya's mom is also moving to Canada, according to Brian :) It's clear Team Canada likes her a lot so I am sure they both left with a good impression, even if it's likely she won't see any of them except for Gabby and maybe Javi once he starts training for Euros (he is honorary Canadian :laugh: )
 
Is Evgenia's support in Russia waning? I went on Youtube and there are a lot of comments in russian that are pure hate (with high upvotes, up to ~70-100), and it's so disappointing because this girl did nothing wrong.

She might see some of them a little when they come to Toronto for choreo. Kaetlyn goes there when she's worked with Jeff on her LPs and Exs, for example. And in 2016-17, TCC skaters met up with the Gadbois teams to run a big Worlds simulation. It didn't happen last year, but there wasn't much time with the Olympics. Maybe that will happen again. V/M probably wouldn't be there, but other Canadian teams would. Oh, and Zhenya gets along with Piper Gilles, doesn't she? Or at least, she had a cute pic of them on Insta a couple seasons ago. G/P are based in the Toronto area.

But anyways, I'm sure she'll be welcomed by everyone at TCC. One of the things I've always liked about her is how she's friends with so many international skaters. And Toronto is a great city. I hope she's happy there.

Besides, someone in this thread said earlier that Eteri's daughter, Diana, has erased all photos from her social media. I'm actually curious to what will happen to all the posters of Evgenia at the ice rink. Evgenia should have dressed up as Voldemort when she visited the Harry Potter world in Japan. Like you know all the skaters at Sambo have to refer to her as She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.

I can't wait until Eteri's next press conference. You know a reporter is going to mention something like, "Evgenia recently said about her first few practices with Orser were great and she's never felt more free. What's your thoughts, Eteri?"

I think the ISU should hire Michael Buffer for the first event where Evgenia and Alina meet. "Let's get ready to rrrrruuuuummmmbbbbblllllle"
 
It’s good Brian kept expectations low in the article.

It’s worth repeating that the changes we hope for will not happen in one season or maybe even two.

I was thinking, since Brian said he wanted Zhenya to be ready for the Challenger Series, if she would do ACI? It will be in Oakville this year and is quite close to Toronto anyway :agree2:

Yes. Yuzu and Javi always went to ACI so chances are very likely!!!

I also think Eteri girls will learn to keep secrets from Eteri as she spilt intimate private conversations on National Television.

Oh nice! Having the support of a loving mother (which hers has all the indicators of being) is always great. I think she'll be more than fine in the relationships department, specially if the Canadian's reputation of being nice people really precedes them ;)
