Alina’s Pyeongchang Olympic profile already showed her at 156cm. So what TAT said about Alina growing 3cm after Olympics (before Worlds) is not true!

I stated before zhenyagate that I thought Eteri was lying. At the time I probably sounded crazy, but now I think eteri has shown herself to be slightly unhinged. I think Eteri was potentially trying to make Zhenya (and herself) feel better by implying that Alina’s success would be short lived due to rapidly changing height. But the amount of growth in a short time seemed so unreasonable - so the nerd that I am looked to see what normal height velocity is for a 15 year old. From the sources I found, a 15 year old female grows less than 2 cm per YEAR. Even girls with late puberty in the 97th percentile appears to grow less than 4 cm per year. So the idea that Alina grew 3cm in a matter of weeks doesn’t make sense to me. The thing is, Alina is actually closer to 16 so these numbers are likely even less. Peak growth velocity appears to happen around age 13 - which may be interesting for the junior girls jumping quads. But I really doubt Alina grew 3 cm between the Olympics and Worlds.

Based on my "Shoma Uno" ruler she is bigger than 156cm now. Shoma is listed as 159cm, and here is Alina by his side on this gif

They are, at best, a hair's breadth away from each other in height. I still think he is a little bit taller (like 159 to 158), but he has shaggy hair and she doesn't (no way to see the shoes they were wearing, probably sneakers for both).

Oh yes, I remember your "Shoma Uno ruler" now. Maybe Dasha grew taller too!

It was Tarasova who said that Alina grew 3 cm after Olympics. At the press-conference after Worlds Eteri said it was not true.

I wouldn't worry about that, in Toronto, we have world renown donut and famous Tim Horten, I doubt if she can still jump in 3 months...Look at the body shape of our police, you can easily sense what I mean.
