Yuzu will easily beat 330 if he goes clean. His new layout is much harder than 2015, and also if the GOE is expanded to a 10 point system guess who can get +5 consistently with 3A, 4T and 4S? Yuzuru Hanyu [emoji3]If anything, I would think the new set of rules as whole will make all of his WR stand for longer than it would have (unless the judges go crazy with PCS and the factoring increase substantially).
Yuzu’s gonna have to work hard beating his own record especially in the free and hence the total score [emoji3]
I still laugh when I think about how he said to Brian he needs ten more points (for a total score WR) right after he got his H&L WR [emoji23]
ETA: That is to say, i think the SoV and the new rules will become fuel for him to charge forward and challenge the scores... I somehow think that bigger scale of GOE = more for him to ‘play around with’ ... like I can imagine something like a meme of Yuzu saying “challenge accepted” haha

Aren't there the 10 point GOE system for spins and Steps too? This will also benefit yuzu because he is definitely the best spinner in terms of speed and flexibility variation and also is at the top in terms of artistry, so the GOE system will benefit him even moreso than jumping beans.. I see a positive side to this new IJS but alot of yuzu fans on twitter seem to be upset that 4A BV is quite low. It’s true he can get really high scores still with his quality but I was thinking more about the fact that one jump is taken out from the free and that the spins and step sequence scores are lower now (haven’t looked at the scores for the latter two but this is what I understood from reading people’s comment here). Haven’t done the math though![]()
Speaking of Yuzu’s Olympic performance, here a Thai commentary of Seimei... I don’t think I’ve seen it being shared much.

They kind of talk a lot and is a teeny bit annoying but they didnt say anything bad. Just giving out facts about Yuzuru for people who have no clue which is appropriate and understandable. The man seemed to be regular sports commentator who has no clue about fs while the lady seems like she might be a skater herself but new to commentating.
What I liked:
- the man was teasing the lady in the beginning saying “this one next to me wants to squeal/scream but she’s trying hard to hold it in” - so apparently she’s a yuzu fan haha
- the talks were relevant to yuzu - they mentioned his injury (and applauded him and medical team), his previous OGM, Worlds gold, GPF golds, and even WTT
- they referred to the sp scores several times (they did this for other skaters as well) so I appreciate how this will prevent a clueless audience from judging the whole competition on the free alone.
- the lady described yuzu’s style as “delicate yet fierce”
- they pointed out the technical score and how Yuzu’s score is similar to the leader (Boyang) but then also mention existence of PCS
- not in this video but for Javi’s she also noted how he popped the quad and points out how he lost a lot of points there... i think that prevents the confusion as to why his score wasnt higher than it was when he had a clean performance
To be honest, I haven’t looked much at the details of the scoring.Aren't there the 10 point GOE system for spins and Steps too? Can you imagine what monstrous score Yuzu can get under the new score board with this layout? To be honest, I haven’t looked much at the details of the scoring.
Just to be clear, I don’t doubt that he has the ability to get the highest scores possible under the new system. Like you, I also think that the competitiveness of his scores against this competitors won’t be negatively affected by the change
I’m was simply unsure of how much the increased GOE scale would be able to offset the score deficit resulting from one removed jumping pass as I have not done the math...
But hey, I just looked at the link Interspectator posted and tried taking out the 3F from the calculated TES under the new system (130.89-7.19) which resulted in 123.70, just 2.42 points less than 126.12. So I guess with potential upgraded layout and possible increase in PCS factoring, it shouldn’t be as hard as I initially thought![]()

3F
4 Lo
4 Lz
3A - 2T
3A-1Lo-3S
Does anyone have a calculator? [emoji23]
He is allowed to jump the same type of triple more than once right? It is only the quad jumps that aren't supposed to be repeated am I right?

Haha I’m not even going to try to calculate
I think the one jump each only applies to the quads... it’s still just a proposal though, right?
One thing that is important to note on the scores is that we still dont know if there would be any change to the 10% bonus in the second half... or has it been decided and I’m not aware?
Woah so it will be well over ... The WRLooks like the fan who did the calculations made some adjustments and added the calculated score for GPF Seimei as well. With the new GOE and BV, the TES for 3 quad Seimei would be 126!
