2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Canadian senior ladies totally kicked butts at latest Worlds, respect! I just felt compelled to signal the domination in the beauty department by miss Konstantinova. :agree:

Okay and no disagreement here. TBH, this is the first time I have ever seen Konstantinova, and a true beauty she is.

This is a great performance by her. Poor Tat probably needed medical treatment from all of the excitement.

She falls a lot though and blows it rather frequently and gets a lot of grief for it. Especially for perceived favoritism at home. She always gets Gubanova’s spots who’s one of my favorites but I don’t hold it against her :cool14:

No kidding?! Also the kindest and nicest Russian skater. :)

Also, Stasya and Alina are two the most honest interviewees among Russian ladies. Zero affectation or impatience.
It's very rare and valuable feature at the top level.

Yeah, I don't want to talk about how Gubanova should have gone to Junior Worlds again, but Gubanova should have gone to Junior Worlds ;)

Thanks for posting. I didn't know much about her personality, so it's good to see she's nice.

On another note, Medvedeva's 'bazooka' is inspiring fanart. lbamda posted the link in her fanfest, for those who are interested:agree:

So tars, the Kaetlyn Osmond of Russia than. I could be a fan ;)
Also, she started skating at 8yo, so much later than other Russian phenoms and she made the Worlds' team! And she ain't even from Moscow! She has many fans, because she's very different than other Russian girls and of course due to overall adorableness. :gclap:

Just translating it into numbers because i am a dummy and have no clue unless there is math in the middle.
Overall, I am not worried. Eteri is well known to be a top pointgrabber, so I am sure that her girls will have programs that maximize scores no matter what.

Yeah, I think so too.

Will be sad to see the loop lose value (and therefore incentive), as -loop combinations are amongst my favourite things in the sport.

Anyone has a dream team for the three spots the coming season?

(Trying to get this back on topic).

Hmm, I guess maybe Evgenia, Alina and Anastasia Gubanova? I'd be happy for Polina Tsurskaya to get the 3rd spot too. With Maria and Daria, it depends on whether they have better (imo of course) programs, because I didn't find either all that interesting last season.

I'm more neutral on Alina - I really liked her in the Dream girls number from SOI Japan, but other that that I haven't connected with her skating - but I'm mostly assuming she'll be on the team. And I certainly wouldn't wish to see her struggle, which she'd have to do to miss the team.

I kind of agree with what you say about Alina. I think she is very nice and she's a great athlete, but I am not that invested in her skating.

I hope Gubanova gets to show her talent to the fullest.
