The Japanese enjoy their portemanteaus. I read that he's doing 'guresupi' in so many tweets... thinking what the heck is a 'guresupi'? Some new weird move I haven't heard about? New song? New costume? Until I realised it's Great Spirit! D'oh! :drama:

Hahahahaha yes Japanese like to "shorten" foreign words to 2/3/4 katakana, so great spirit-> katakana: guresupirrito-> guresupi

Btw, I've read some twitt said Shoma will perform different program everyday so tmr should be TAT

Sorry but I think you are mixing concepts...I am Spanish and Rodrigo and Gabriela play Spanish guitar, and play music with this guitar...but that's not flamenco. Neither Starway to Heaven nor PPA are flamencommaybe the sound can be similar but two songs are most latin and even with mexican reminiscences but not flamenco.
If they are basing the concept of the program in flamenco, they are wrong.

It has flamenco elements in it though (it is not flamenco, I agree, but some melodic/harmonic ideas are certainly very similar). I think it is the generic 'Spanish-ness' that will be more important for this program in terms of style, not the flamenco dance itself. We have not seen the program though, so too early to draw any conclusions. ;)

Well... what's the probability that they will air the one show without Yuzuru in it? I'm worried for Stairway to Heaven...
Also, apparently, Shoma changed the "guresupi" costume again, back with the headband, new T-shirt. Hope we get some photos soon :)

Did Shoma and his team say 'Lookie, we're having a Flamenco program this season! It's FLAMENCO, everyone!'? This is fan interpretation. And we haven't seen anything but snippets. Wikipedia says that Rodrigo y Gabriela make classical guitar music with influences of several genres like nuevo flamenco, heavy metal and rock.

Thanks for the news everybody!!! Sho is SHOcking us again 😆 I'm curious...has any other top skater skated to any variation of Stairway to heaven?

I found out that Kevin Reynolds used a version of it in his FP season 2009-10 together with two other pieces. Here´s the link for the StH part if you want to watch it. Looks and sounds really beautiful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sOE7JRBZaUA I can´t remember any other elite skater using it.

LINE? What's it? The SNS application? xD

Well, Shoma said sth like "setting a target limits yourself", so the LINE definitely does nothing good but limits us ;)
IMO, there is no line! I can't see any! :P

Ah, no it's the line we like to cross. Hronop especially! :jaw:

Edit: Man, the crowd freaks out for Great Spirit, as far as I can hear it. There is a cantilever, did you see? Spiritual Ecstasy!!!

Finally! Great Spirit! Way to challenge yourself Sho. FOUR new programs?! Awesome. Yes, smile that big smile. Sure hope I get to see Great Spirit soon.

Exactly, Rodrigo y Gabriela are doing a sort of eclectic mix of styles, with some flamenco in it, too. So, if Shoma does some flamenco moves, that's entirely appropraite. I highly doubt that the whole SP is just one flamenco dance.

:laugh2: I like to explore new territories, let's call it this way.
Looking at some moves from his 'flamenco' and 'culturally appropriated Indian style', I tend to think it is Shoma himself who is way ahead of us in terms of crossing lines. We can barely keep pace with him. :dbana:

Hehehe...I am confused too.
Ok now I know グレスピ = Great Spirit =GS.
Thank you.

wikipedia can say what they want...this music is not flamenco and it's not Spanish style... I know the music of my own country...
