Evgenia Medvedeva

same, but vaits is a rita skeeter of russian fs
Yes, there is some of that. But she really seems to have a lot of "insider" information as she is communicating with skaters, coaches and other people in Russian figure skating a lot. And she has often been right about things. Plus, unlike some other journalists covering figure skating, she really has quite a lot of knowledge about it, even though she writes about other sports as well. And, to be honest, I have liked most of her interviews with figure skaters. She tends to ask direct and sometimes uncomfortable questions, sure, but the result is almost always interesting to read.

Thanks for the explanation! I'm looking forward to the interview!

Yes and that woman has written out some horrible information which was wrong before so... do not trust everything she says.

I’m a bit afraid that with this interview, people will again twist what she says and that she’ll receive hate 😞
I think I can’t take it anymore but let’s hope for the best !

Whatever Zhenya might have said, it was the best moment to do it because she probably won't go back to Russia until the Nationals, so people have time to forget if she said something controversial  Hopefully it wasn't controversial, but we never know... :drama:

This is going to happen regardless. Some people LOVE to twist her words...

Hopefully the interview will be focusing on Zhenya only - her past and future season, her move, ecc ecc. There's so much to say without having to talk about Eteri at all!

it looks like they are at the clubs parking lot not at the airport

Well, since that looks like Jason’s car and there are suitcases in the back, it seems pretty likely he picked her up at the airport even if the picture was taken in the TCC lot.

Janny is in Toronto! Woohoo! It begins.... brand new coach, training arena, training partners, skating programs, even training country!!! Exciting new adventure for her, right?

And if Janny does read this forum...somebody needs to post here whatever the best anime store is in Toronto so we can help her out. :)

I think it's important to emphasize again that we should not expect the same kind of meteoric rise she had as before. Things are different now. She'll be rebuilding/adjusting.

I know most of us here already know this, but yknow..

I think it's too early to know anything for sure about the next season and the consequences of all those changes on her consistency and results. Next season may be difficult, but it could also go pretty well, so...

The thing we know for sure is that we don't need to worry if her season is not as good as the previous ones, I agree with you on that :)

I agree with that. Alone the fact that some people fear this interview, tells me you are right.

if it is his car you must be right... we need a tcc spy to tell us everything day by day or we go crazy

- just checked youtube and yes it is jasons car

Jason clearly uploaded that YT video so we all can know that it's his car later on.

Also, I went back and fetched this photo for you all -- she was so young then!! https://www.instagram.com/p/9R-sSZIawn/?taken-by=jmedvedevaj

I think what Evgenia stands to gain from this experience is more than then what the competitive results will show. I think she'll find it refreshing to train with lots of different skaters from around the world and to explore the world beyond the one she knew in Russia. Also, as I said in the other thread, I hope she'll get to go to a K-Pop concert or two. She was already a worldly person before making this move, it's only going to increase from there.

I agree that this season will definitely be her adjusting period, one where results may not come nearly as steadily as they have in the past. At the same time, we are talking about an incredible skater, so I don't expect her to suddenly lose her talent and years of hard work! I think it will be a very interesting season to follow as her fans for sure

As saying goes: 'Prepare for the worst, hope for the best' ;)

I want Evgenia to win and win and only win and never lose because I just love seeing her with a gold medal around her neck, beaming proudly at her fans. But... that‘s not only not likely but also obviously quite unrealistic. She‘s probably going to fall more often this season because she‘s got a) less training time with only now arriving in Toronto when others already have some of their programs fully coreographed and needing to adjust first and b) Orser having a different approach to training than Eteri (especially in the number of run-throughs) and c) Her maybe already trying to rework her technique (lutz edge!) That‘s going to take a toll on her consistency, I‘m sure of that. How much? We‘ll see. She does have this incredible mental strength which counts for a lot. She probably won‘t win every competition she enters ir skate without any errors but that‘s not what she or Orser are aiming for anyway. He specifically said it: They want to focus on OG 2022 and she does not need to win every World Championships on the way. Yes, we all expect a lot from her and this change but it‘s probably better if we‘re a bit realistic. She‘s going to fall and struggle but she‘s going to win and succeed too! We can‘t say now what will happen. I just want her to be happy and healthy, whether or not she stands on the top podium or on the left side in second place. Really excited for this season and news of Zhenya in Toronto! And the friendship with Jason is really cute, they really seem to get along quite well! :)
