Yuzuru Hanyu: 2017-2018

So am I the only one who wants to see a silver or grey costume on Yuzu? Silver and dark brown is the only color he hasn't tried. Well Deep purple too.
I would also love to see some more yellow on yuzu. To me he is the perfect skater because he tries different music and colors each time so the programs all feel very unique.

The only time I felt his costume was a recycled version of his old one was H&L and Etude in D Sharp Minor. Those 2 were very similar.

And he seems to love that gold or black high waist he used on the chopin costume. The one where black or gold waist is sequenced in glitters.

Ohhhhhhh, I have to make a confession. I am so obsessed with "Hijikata Toshizo" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hijikata_Toshizō) and I would kill for Yuzuru to have a FS portraying Hijikata. In a dream world that he does it he has to wear a dark brown suite with gold waist

He performed that program in 24 hours TV once with Hiromi Go. And never mind of those kind of people, they are made of stone :dev3:

You're right. We should just ignore those people.

On another note, 'What Sold at Art Basel in Basel'. ' Hanyu (Yuzuru Hanyu) (2018) by Elizabeth Peyton went for $475,000 to a private European museum. '
This one.

It depends a lot on the shade of that brown. The line between excellent and excrement is reeeally thin. Literally thin.

 your comment had me rolling in laughter.

I also don't like brown in costumes, and tend to not like grey since it appears a bit drab on ice.

I do think blue/purple colors are Yuzu's power colors - maybe gold too ;) .

I'd like to see him in red myself. He looked great in those Lotte commercials.

I love his POTO red costume...too bad we didn't get to see more of it. I wonder where it is now.

I was just going to say that this was one costume I was sad didn't get more wear, obviously the situation warranted it to be never worn again, but the red and gold looked great, and oh man was it sparkly!!(The Japanese ladies beside me at the rink when he came out with that costume were all whispering excitedly "kirakira!" which means shiny I think.

I think overall he is quite committed to matching the costume with the program; PW was modern and simple (even though the shirt has sparkly patterns), so he doesn't always need to have frills. I am more than satisfied he gave us the UA training gear shots every single event!

Can Hanyu fans start a petition on change.org to get Lorrie Parker suspended too for national bias?

Oh didn't he? I mean, with his colouring he can wear pretty much any shade but red is especially good...

For the season, I'm hoping for something modern and jazzy, and something gloriously Japanese-themed, in whichever order. Also for more H&L as well as the new one for exhibitions...

Wow this is my 200th post so I wanna celebrate it here lol.

I also loved the red and black POTO costume of Yuzuru.
But due to bad memories, it will never see the light of day again.
Even on exhibits its not displayed right?
He looked regal in that outfit. The royal prince of the ice rink.

Its great Niigata will have a broadcast and hopefully at the end of this tour, we can get a compilation of all the broadcast available.
I did a binge watching again of Nice 2012 with every commentary available online.
Seeing and hearing it all over again, going back it was the time when Yuzu made his statement.
What the commentors said: "A superstar is born","He is going to be world Champion someday.", "He is someone to look out for in Sochi." "Its raw but its talent", "The boy has talent." "He is just a kid, unbelievable." and "A supreme young talent."
It was the beautiful start of his journey. And he had such a lovely face there too, sweat and tears all together.
I wish there was a clearer audio of his shout in the second half when he did his emotional step sequences.

Honestly I cannot help but be thankful for his family, the JSF, all his previous coaches (Special mention to Shizuki sensei who inspired him to do the axel and Abe Sensei for guiding Yuzu from Junior to Senior) and TCC for helping Yuzuru Hanyu be the best he could be.
He said it right? He wanted to win the olympics in Sochi, by the time he is 19. How old was he then? Like 10?
Yuzuru, thank you for showing the world that childhood dreams are never foolish and can be achieved in time.
We are all so proud of you. (I am so emo typing this down)

I don't share the semi-popular opinion on the first POTO costume. It had a very strange almost childish design in my opinion. I've heard a comment- and that was a comment made before he went into a warm-up at that CoC event- that those red colored spots looked like blood stains. Spooky when you think of it now, right? Good he never wore that one again and never wanted to renew it. So many terrible memories. I don't understand the obsession some fans have about that accident, keep bringing it into their arts and everything. It could be the end of his career and could be triggering to wear that costume again. He had so much stress entering the ice on every single competition that followed, nothing should have been reminding him about that crash. He wears blue a lot, perhaps that is his comforting color. And it looks really good on him.

Has anyone posted this here?
Another Shibsibs vlog, this time is from the Hope & Future show https://youtu.be/yViSIxAG3Zc
Yuzu can be spotted practicing in the background here and there. There’s also a part where Maia and Evgenia were jamming along to Hope and Legacy
