Evgenia Medvedeva

I think it means « hello » !

Okay, thanks! I can definitely see Zhenya, popping up on her social media account right before some crucial news are going to be leaked with a sly: „hello“ as in: „Hello, guys, I‘m back and let‘s just wait. I have some news for you.“ ;)

That's almost what she did on instagram the week-end when everyone was going crazy about her coach change and was waiting for her announcement :laugh2:

That‘s so typical for her, I can‘t even... And probably why I love her so much. She‘s sly and clever and sarcastic and determined and don‘t try to bring her down because she‘ll bring you down with clever remarks instead. :laugh2:

Me too ! Like I’m just waiting for her next remark because it’s always so funny

I've had both Zhenya's Grand Prix assignments and Roger Federer's Wimbledon draw released within just a day of each other. Talk about information overload! 🤯

Roger

Seriously the best sporting weekend ever was when Roger won the Australian Open, Jason won his 4CC bronze and the Warriors beat the Celtics earlier this year. :)

Can't wait to hear about Zhenya's programs!

On the other hand, has Zhenya done a lot of warhorses? I can't really think of any.... Maybe Lady Caliph when she was in juniors?

That was a great final and thats incredible! It’s awesome when your favourite sports athletes win around the same time! Although their completely different sports I do see some of Federer in Zhenya in terms of her domination and passion for the sport, her strong mentality, her grace and artistry, how she respects her fellow competitors, being graceful in both victory and defeat, her popularity and regular fan interaction and her fun personality. Let’s hope she enjoys a similar level of longevity and success! [emoji4]

Hello fellow Roger fans! I'm hoping for Wimbledon #9 soon :)

Speaking of Zhenya - I am actually really interested to see what kind of programs David has in store for her. I agree with many of you that she has so much more to give... Excited to see her live at SCI :).

Yeah that was what I was thinking LOL.

Fun to see this old program! Someone on GS once described as her magician robot program and I kinda like the description. 2015 Junior Worlds.

I don't know if it was that performance or at another competition during that season, but in one of the competitions that year, after that program, there was a cameraman filming as she came off the ice, and she began talking with Eteri like she always does. I do not speak Russian, but in the comment section of the video I saw, a Russian said that at whatever mark in the video (like at 5:48 or whatever), Eteri asks her why she was punching her feet, and Zhenya replied, "I was going too fast and was afraid I'd f... up," and then Eteri pointed out the cameraman behind her, and she spun and gave him a huge grin and said, "Sorry!" I saw the exchange, and it's likely an accurate transcription in the comments. Seeing her skate that routine in that dress again just reminded me of it. :agree:

I love how fierce she is at the end! She knows she won, and next year, it's time to slay the seniors, too! Such a ferocious little bear cub. :luv17:

This is the first time that I've commented on this site but I've been following this site and Zhenya since the Olympics when I fell in love with her skating and after seeing all of the hate and negative coments on Russain Ladies especially in the last few days I felt as though I had to come here and spread some positivity for Zhenya. I first watched her in the team eent when i was stuck in bed because I was stick and immediately fell in love with her short program and her skating which stood out for me amongst the rest of the competitors. I then went and googled her and found out the full story and watched as many of her programs as I was able to and finding out that she was competing like that on a broken foot was crazy for me considering her abilities. When I then watched her programs in the individual event I was absolutely engrossed in both of them especially her Anna Karenina which had me basiclaly in tears especially when I realised that she had lost and after she was able to go and hug Alina (the first to congratulate her) i had basically no chance of not loving her for skating and her strength of mind despite the flaws that everyone seems to love to point out. For me she is a massive inspiration and role medal and I would credit her as being part of the reason for me being able to return to the sport that I am competitive and not taking the easier way out and just quitting when it got hard. I have loved watching her in Canada and how she has been welcomed by everyone and how happy she seems to be nowadays and I would 100% say that if it hadn't been for her I wouldn't have gotten into figure skating and stayed into it after the winter olympics and thus found other skaters to root for though Zhenya will always be my number 1. I am so excited to see what she can come up with and how she will perform next season because if anyone has the ability to make these hard decisions changing her coaching staff and massive gambles whilst still coming back stronger then ever it is Zhenya and I am so excited to be able to root for her in live time instead of merely bingewatching all of her programs by myself.

What a lovely post, skyskater! Welcome to Golden Skate and post often! This FF welcomes such a lovely kind post toward Zhenya!

I love how she inspired you! Good luck! Also I agree that Anna Karenina was quite touching and
Amazing!
