about her PCS is lower than Zagitova, maybe because Zagitova is a clear favorite of OGM (with Medvedeva as well) so that's why. She also have very high TES (80+) and we know TES affect PCS as well. Also Canadian politicking is stronger than Japan so Osmond have higher PCS than Satoko as well. We also know Satoko jumps hinder her, judges may not give her highest PCS because other skater jumps look better since Satoko have tiny jumps even with politicking.

That's exactly the point. With good politicking she should be getting very high pcs close to Zhenya, Kostner and higher than Zagitova, but she does not. Kostner and Osmond often get very high pcs even with terrible performances with falls and pops.

Callers are actually very bad at their work and she still gets 2 or 3 calls in general in almost every competition. Her pcs are lower than Zagitova's. Imho, that shows that Japan's politicking is weak.

The callers at WC IMO weren't bad at all, but pretty strict and correct overall - with Satoko being the only exception from what I remember.

I completely agree her PCS shouldn't be lower then Alinas, and JSF definitely doesn't seem to have the same pull as the Russian Federation for example (though funny enough, I think Mikhail Kolyada was underscored compared to Shoma twice this season, and ended up behind him twice when he shouldn't have (GPF/WC)). But I do think Satokos TES is often too high, and given that the scoring in Japanese Nationals in my opinion favored her too, the assumption she's the skater JSF prefers and seems to push at all internationally looks likely (because while Satokos PCS are too low, her TES is often too high - compared to many other Japanese ladies who end up with low scores in general).

Satoko may look lovely on TV, but her performance isn't that impressive when you see in person.

I don't think she "isn't that impressive",but to be honest, she is so tiny.
She is like a piece of elaborate art or an antique Victorian jewelry, so, it's better to have scope/camera to fully appreciate its beauty.

Then the judges should watch her jumps through a scope, too.

It's a little late for that if it's not a GOE bullet anymore, but I'm glad to see her pushing herself. :)

True. I’ve never really been so convinced by claims of her underscoring in PCS for this reason. Admittedly it was two seasons ago, but I remember Boston Worlds— and I don’t remember Satoko. She’s about the only skater in the top 12 women, and a few below, where I can’t recall a single moment from either program. She does obviously have excellent SS but to me her projection was just nonexistent.

Not to late. It can be included in one of the bullets. Medvedeva stills train tanos and rippons. I don't think it's just for pleasure.

Lengthening her axis might help her rotate. (And “tano” was never the actual bullet anyway; there’s no reason now that the judges suddenly can’t reward it as a part of the new good body position bullet if she does them well.

Yes exactly. There is also still the thing that it's in each judges discretion what they consider for GOE, as all those bullets are "guidelines" and all. She might get a GOE raise from it even if there really wasn't a GOE bullet point. Maybe she also won't, and then she can drop it again, but hey it might be worth trying.

 As much as I appreciate Satoko's fine qualities, I secretly wish these girls will be Japan's top three this coming season.

Me too. Japan has such an incredible field and I'll be sorry for so many who won't make it either way, but that trio would be my dream

Regarding the arm variations, I don't see why it would affect Wakas amplitude. It doesn't for Masha, or on Yuzus 3T, or any of the Eteri girls. I get for many they are over used by now, and not all look pretty, but IMO there are also examples of arm variations that really enhance the jumps. I did like the one on Waka's Axel combo in her LP :)

whats wrong with wakaba? she couldn't land her jumps in the michael jackson ex. Ok its a rather long program, but she really seemed to struggel with her jumps...

Maybe she was tired. Since she's doing shows after shows, in which she lands her jumps cleanly.
