Hahaha! Dmitri and his shenanigans! I think Shoma should have been Mario and Dmitri Luigi though. https://twitter.com/shoomshoomy/status/1023433006881497088?s=19

Oh- and a 2A4T for Shomita?

Very cool about the 2A4T!!

As for Mario and Luigi, now I wish so badly they were in Tokyo so that they could have done the MarioKart Go-Karting around the city in those costumes. I did it with my best friend, but I was Luigi as I'm 5'7 and she was Mario at her 5'0. :rofl2:

I have to admit before this show, my thoughts were what are they going to do during this show that hasn't already been done in the huge number of shows that have already taken place?! First of all, they came up with a great cast. The timing of the show is great because many of the skaters now have their new SPs, so the audience was treated to debuts of many new SPs. Or in Shoma's case, they got to see the new FS. Having the amazing trio skate together was a genius idea and quite a coup! Good thinking. Having the two Olympic medalists skate together. Yes! I'm sure there were other things too that we may not even know. Very moving idea on the Denis tribute too. I saw this description of the tribute on Twitter:

The last program of Part 1 of The Ice is an homage to Denis' Tu Sei, his 17-18 SP music. It was skated by a group of about ten skaters, including Voronov, Nobu, Nathan, Shoma, Boyang, Gabby, Alina, and Takahito. A video that included clips from when Denis was in the show was played. The skaters wore all black.

**************

The frosting on the cake was reading very favorable comments about Shoma's Moonlight Sonata. Can't wait to see it! And a great finish to the day, going out to eat with Itsuki (even though they didn't have yakiniku). ...Now I think I'll re-read everything! It may take a while!

It looks like the casts in "the Ice" focus more on "current competition skaters"? As you said it held on a good timing so audience can see the skaters performing their new program in coming season. Shoma is the most "aggressive" skaters as he brought us FOUR new programmes! (so probably audience in different ice show can see at least 1 new program)

For Moonlight Sonata, it looks nice from various tweets, on the other hand, it sounds like Shoma was a bit low on Stamina (!!!) in the finale (due to FS?)

Regarding the roast duck restaurant, it is opened by dad of Kihara Mariko (figure skater), that's why Shoma sent flowers for their opening (and visit their restaurant) imo. (p.s. Kihara is at the same age as Shoma) Source: https://twitter.com/akichin1965/status/1023464687122362369

Imagine learning 4 new programs. Between that and all his post-Olympic commitments (and all his niku-niku-niku consumption), he has been a busy guy. I liked that the focus was on current skaters! It's funny when you mentioned his stamina, I wondered how tired he would be after all that skating, and I thought he even looked tired while at the restaurant!

Flowers for the restaurant opening? There we go again, a thoughtful gift-giving gesture by Shoma. I'm sure some of this is orchestrated by his parents, but still -- very nice gesture.

I know we've seen most of this, but can I relive it one more time?! And it's nice to see a couple other people we didn't get to see, even if it's just still shots of them - Mariah Bell, Gabby D., Gabby and Guillaume, Vanessa and Morgran, Mai, Kaori, Mirai, etc. :drama:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZsloNNvb-Q

This weekend has been great, thanks to The Ice for giving us so much Shoma content!

Love his answers, especially the nickname one. Thanks to Feimei Cheng for the translation.

Interview Question:What is your nickname?
Answer: Shoma
My answer: Yes, that's right -- Shomita, His Royal Kakkoiiness, Shoma kun, Shomajesty, Sho, the Prince, Loco, His Royal Hotness, Shomachka, Pocket Rocket, Leprechaun. You don't have a nickname!

Adding: Fagiolino (Italian) - small bean

Somebody already went there wow and apparently they put blurandot backwards on the mannequin  (how? there is a huge poster with Sho wearing it right beside it not to mention the V-neck) but then they changed it

Yup, the exhibition is held at Toyota kaikan museum at Toyota city.

Guess Shoma's "wear/ hold/ put items in reverse way" have affected Toyota staff lol, it seems that a Shoma fan told the museum later (that's why the costume direction was fixed afterwards): https://twitter.com/hitsuji_one/status/1023830175518081024

Btw, for his winter costume, Satomi sensei has put snowflake shape of stone on it (for both purple and silver one):
https://twitter.com/hitsuji_one/status/1023837637411397632

According to other tweets, it seems that the museum will display Shoma's orange coat (in OG) and medal in the future.

Oh, I sudden remembered the question in Disney on Ice: "What Disney characters do you like?"
-> Shoma is not good at remember names, even his nickname!

I am wondering how Nathan avoided the jump championship. Nevertheless it sounds like fun. Hopefully they will have it set to some cool pop music. Should be fun no matter the results.

Yup, it's just for fun. I don't think they will do their most difficult jumps, the show lights are confusing and we don't want any injury

Nathan is smart. I know the audience likes the jump contest but I was never a fan. I would rather see a dance off. Less chance of injury and more fun for everyone. JMO

I agree, I would prefer a steps showdown like Dai and Denis did in 2014 than a jump contest.
